Old Renault shite out and about near Sandbach

Now that the Monaco's got its new exhaust and coolant I decided to give it a quick spin out this evening. In order to mark the event, it was joined by another piece of France's most average-est - Chris Lee's mint 35k 11 TXE Electronic. This also meant that there were two fully-functioning, green 11 Electronics at my place.

That 5 Monaco is lovely. There’s nothing much about it that I don’t like. Just look at that lovely beige leather and quality carpets…! Lush!

 

Lovely 11 too. I honestly don’t recall the last time I saw an early(ish) one in the metal.

 

My brother had a red Renault 11, A reg, for his first car. Three door jobbie. It had a leaky after-market sunroof and the whole dashboard was loose. He had to buy seat covers as the cloth on all the seats had more holes in them than swiss cheese. Cracking little motor, otherwise. He turned it over on a quiet country lane after apparently ‘avoiding a fox running across the road’ late one night. Aye, all right.. A136 JEY, if memory serves me correctly.

Great motors, the 5 for the mix of leather and crap plastic; and the TXE Electronic for the quirky dash etc.

I'd actually forgotten about the "R11 Electroniques" always wanted one as a kid.... something else to add to the cars to own list
