Torsten2001 Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 Well, just the one! Ex Nigel Bickle in need of love but gorgeous, took it for a drive around Camberwell!....or got towed!
nigel bickle Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 You're on the end of a rope-surely? You cant have got it running already? Hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Shout if you need 'owt.
wuvvum Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 That is stunning. Love the blackout headlight cover. I'm getting a hankering for another pre-war car at the moment - finding a sensibly-priced one on the Bay seems to be a bit of an issue though.

seth Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 Of course! Got it up to 10mph on the way to the dungeon! Brilliant! Hope I can have a good look over it on Wednesday.
Angrydicky Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 Wow! Love it Can you let me know if you ever decide to sell it? Utterly gorgeous.
pogweasel Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 How lovely is that!! I would genuinely love something like this to potter to (very)local classic events / county show / village fetes, with lost of 'stuff' being oiled from an old green pumpy oil can. And I would try to silence the nagging little voice at the back my brain demanding V8/big & little slotmags/pinstriping/etc...
scooters Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 Nice vek......really nice GR8 4 PETRAL RASHNIN Which might be apt!
Conrad D. Conelrad Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 ACE. GR8 4 PETRAL RASHNIN ... and you don't lose your spare wheel well.
STUNO Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 Lovely, I like the idea of the ww2 blackout lamp in combination with a spotlight !
Andrew353w Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 Vek, WHAT A CAR!!! And it's Devonian, too! "UO" suffix belonged to Devon, so the history of the car would be of interest to this ex-Devonian! If all else fails, you'll be a dead cert for any future episodes of "Foyle's War"!
Rhythm Thief Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 Gorgeous. When I rule the world, all classic motors will look like that. So much more interesting than the shiny stuff.
trigger Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 I love this!, I can wait to see this back on the road, but chain it to the fence this time!, Did you find anymore out about that A35 spotted at the local police station?.
bigstraight6 Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 What a lovely old thing that is, and Devon registered too!
seth Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 I had the opportunity to have a good look at this yesterday. ITS A HUNNY!
Torsten2001 Posted March 31, 2011 Author Posted March 31, 2011 just the thought of it brightens up my day! Trouble is I am actually going to have to work on it...and I'm scared!
wuvvum Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 '30s cars are actually a piece of piss to work on, as long as you aren't too heavy-handed - I found out with the Austin Ten that 60+ year old bolts don't like being torqued up too hard. You'll probably find there's a lot of things which are completely different to how they'd be on a modern car, but everything's so simple and logical that it doesn't really matter. Only problem is that if you do break something, Halfords are unlikely to have it on the shelf.
