Work Project Shite

At work we decided we needed a project that we could have a bit of fun with and we decided on an ebay purchase, shit photo'd 1275GT, it's pretty much fcuked, more rust than metal but seeing as we use body shops constantly we're calling in some favours and I have a third share in this baby!

Jeepers. That is a pile of shite alright. Is that rear valance hanging off?

I reckon the square-nose Minis earn good Autoshite points. Should be a good project for you!

I think everything else is hanging off the rear valance! I love those flat nosed Minis, a good purchase and project.

PLEASE leave it completely standard. Haven't seen an un-chav'd one in light years.

Nice purchase. I much prefer these to the regular shaped minis

Vote to keep the stripes and black paint 8)

Super!

I can [just] recall fatha_pog fetching home motha_pog and a newborn brutha_pog from the maternity ward in a black 1275GT, in 1981.

Didn't Lulu have a black 1275GT, way back? I seem to remember reading an interview in which she mentioned she had to order it specially as black wasn't a standard colour at the time...

Fantastic purchase. My first car was a black 1275GT,a K.reg 1972 and just a frilly as that.Avenue Panels made a delivery every payday for weeks.

Webasto

:(

?

A Webasto sunroof ruins a car even more than a pop-up glass one does. I remember reading in some classics magazine that a Webasto sunroof was somehow a good thing, this was incorrect.

Webasto sunroofs are also very difficult to fix or fit - they look simple but they are not...I had the Daf 55 Marathon that was in PC's feature on budget rally cars in January 09 - some wee scrote slashed the Webasto roof very badly - cost me £350 to get Peter Hervey to refurbish it - he's down on the south coast and is just abou the only specialist who still works omn these roofs - his clients fly him all over the world to fix them. He wastelling me that some Californian flew him to napa valley for 2 weeks to replace the roofs on his old jag.

kwality tat though Vek - you'll need those favours if the valance is that crusty gawd nose wot the subframes ill be loike!

and to you mini haters - there are minis and there are 1250 GTs.....nuff sed

Was the 1250 a sleeved down version of the 1275?

Good catch, Torsten. A Mini Clubman has been on my list of things to get for a while now, but I think prices are going up sharply.
