Last point..Im a UK citizen..i was in Scotland when she was elected in 79..i lived and suffered under her..i left because the Tories created massive unemployment in the 80s..yeah man..it was a right laugh being broke and young..so i went to Germany..which was years ahead financially and a far more socially progressive country than either the UK and USA..and NZ..we have the same political system as Germany..which cant be bought and sold like yours..

Personally I was very sad on the day of the Brighton Bomb because the evil witch lived. She destroyed industry and her legacy will destroy the Union

Well, rightly or wrongly, she was elected. Three times. And it was 30-odd years ago.

So get over it.

I'm not sure if you mean the (trade) union or the (British) union but I'd fight tooth and nail to keep both. I'd be happy to see her dead but the Brighton bombing was a terrible thing to happen.

Thatcher was re-elected so many times because thee was no credible alternative.

If you look at the political position of Neil Kinnock, which changed to suit himself and his slag of a wife you'll see why the public weren't fooled by him.

First was his changing opinion on the nuclear deterrent, only to try and get himself elected.

Next it was his opinion on pulling out of the Common Market, until he wormed his way into a well paid job there for himself and his wife.

His opinion of the House of Lords changed when he was due to don ermine as well.

The people to blame for three Thatcher victories are the Labour party for not finding John Smith quick enough.

If the party/unions had voted(electable) Denis Healy in instead of (unelectable)Michael Foot the political landscape of this country might of been different. The SDP may not of been formed which stole votes from Labour in the '83 election.

Sadly, Thatcher wss probably the last ever Prime Minister we will ever have who is willing to stand by their beliefs. Gordon Brown was probably as left wing as Michael Foot and Cameron doubtless has right wing beliefs that would make Nick Griffin blush but they both know that the average UK voter has broadly centre right views so they were constantly fighting over the centre ground in a compertition to try and "out bland" each other.

I don't vote and I don't subscribe to any political party.

I agree 100%. I disagreed with a lot of Thatcher's policies - but at least with her, what you saw was what you got. She said what she believed, and people could make their own minds up whether to support her or not. It seems that today's politicians will say absolutely anything if there are a few extra votes in it - you just don't know what they really stand for.
