My parents went to the launch of the Capri there. When she tried to open the door of the car in the showroom the handle came off in my Mum's hand. They didn't stay.

Not DSdriver's mum. She seems happy, but note the parking.

Looked it up and I'm none the wiser; last taxed in 1982, so probably bean tins.

Further pondering lead to a quick google to confirm; it's doovla mislabelling a Morrison Electricar A1.

More from Ron Miller Dairies of Aylesbury if this isn't enough.

This is my dream car fleet and then all in diesel and manual as they should be.

A life goal this.

You wouldn't find a small business putting that much cash into stock nowadays without being done for money laundering.

Am not sure where that pic was taken (possibly Finland or Sweden?) but check out the front grille. The UK indicator positions have inserts the same style as the grille and it has orange indicators below the bumper instead. Maybe the UK white lenses weren't visible enough.

Never seen that before.

Did she take the handle though?

Knowing my mother she was wearing a big hat (the sort that ladies should always wear when returning items to shops) and she would have turned around and placed the handle into the open hand of the embarrassed sales manager. This is how I imagine the scene anyway 😊

Is the Concorde still there? I’ve not been to Heathrow this century.

There is still a Concorde at Heathrow albeit hidden away and not open to the public.

Used to go past there all the time as my Uncle lived behind there & his garage was up in Bethnal Green.  Got a tidy 1986 Carlton estate from someone opposite for £40 with tax & ticket circa 1997.. There were loads of dodgy used cars dealers & garages along Mare Street back then, including a Lada dealer a few hundred yards further along, (I`ve never managed to find pictures of it).

I saw this LHD one a few years ago in east London, which made me wonder if it was an American import, with the side markers.. I have seen Mk2 Cortina`s in recent scrap yard videos on youtube in America (as well as Mk1 Fiesta`s), so not sure if they were sold there officially.

Any idea where? We had similar trams in Eastbourne, until they moved to Seaton in Devon, possibly to enable the later development on the site. Not sure it is E/b though, but it's many years since I would have seen them.

They were sold in the US, there are quite a few US ads shown online.

Modern Electric Tramways, Crumbles, Eastbourne, 1966
This was the first genuinely permanent location of the miniature tramways created by Claude Lane, and electrical engineer from north London. It was established in 1953 and became the centre of Lane's operations from 1957.

The line was built to a gauge of 2 ft, wider than Lane's earlier operations on 15 inch gauge lines. The trackbed was leased from Eastbourne Corporation, but when it became clear in the mid 1960s that there would be no renewal of the lease. In the late 1960s Lane concluded an agreement to purchase the trackbed of the recently closed branch line to Seaton. Operations moved to Seaton in 1970, where the Seaton Tramway still operates.

The Eastbourne cars were loosely based on those which had operated on the coastal tramway at Llandudno, from which the green and cream livery was derived.
