What year is this photo? This part of inner Dublin didn't get any form of traffic signals until the mid-to-late 1970s, and I see that cast-iron SGE signal heads are in operation here.

Source just says 'mid 70s'. The Granada's a Ghia, an early one on wheeltrims, introduced 1974.  The Hunter has later tail-light trim, so maybe 1975 or 76? Anyone put a date the 504? I don't know if you can date these cars from Irish registration numbers.

Love the Simca advert on the left hand CIE Atlatean. If anybody can read the regs of these, may make dating easier

ill give you something even sadder if it makes you feel better :)

the what im pretty sure are GEC Z3430 high mast street lights tell me its definitely no early than the 1970's :)

im actually quite surprised to see such streetlights in such a city environment, they where more reserved for motorway use and the such like

(also they must be very early ones as I normally associate the GEC Z3430 as a 1980s streetlight ill have to check if anyone knows the exact year of introduction)

That MK5 in breakers is just a crusader not an XR6 or lower spec S.A. version as it doesn't have steel bumper endcaps & has angled shockers & top arms rather than 5 link & turreted rear shockers like all S.A.  MK5 saloons.

I think it looks like YZI 294 on the bus heading away from the camera

Just love the “window cleaner’s?” Couldn’t give a **** stance to surrounding traffic, try that today in your local town!

My phone is shit at enlarging pics so I'd guess that's actually VZI294, a Metal Sections / CIE bodied Atlatean (which looks correct from the pic, the bus coming towards the camera is from.the same batch), that was new in November 1969 and lasted for 16 years.
