Not sure about the Falklands, the mix of vehicles, to me seem more mid to late '70's, there's an obvious crowd but no Union Flags or anything. Some sort of Freedom of the City/Lord Mayors Parade thingy?

I would say it’s definitely the early 80s with the Mk5 Cortina and the VW? in front if the VW van at the front.

Mk5 cortina launched autumn 79 & D series with plastic grille/square headlights circa 80 so I'd say quite possibly Falklands related.
