NorfolkNWeigh Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Junkman, could I humbly suggest the small estate car in the right row ,above the Renault 8, is a Ford Anglia ?The fact I can't tell a DKW from an Auto Union or even knew Taunuses and Kapitans had letters after their names, does make this comment appear a little churlish.

I think you are correct with the Anglia. The letters are the series designations. They were often given 'posthumously', so that today's old car guys can distinguish between the various generations. Some of them are the internal project codes though.Panoramic windscreens mean automatically Auto-Union. They were introduced after the takeover by Mercedes-Benz and from the takeover onwards the 'DKW' was dropped for the 1000S series, at least in its home market.
