Heh, heh...I'd rather have the Lada any day of the week.

Nice one...this is the standard to which all autoshiters should plummet!! :P

Young Panda is no stranger to the delights of Ladas, he used to have a very tasty estate with burgundy coachwork 8)

which used to be mine, a truly great car!

Love the Lada, tell us more!

I must add, it is a 145 mile drive back in a 14yr old Lada.

I will organize by breakdown cover!

It is a 1996 1.5E, with 24k on the clock.

Can't wait to get back in a Lada again

Cool as fook! 8)8)

On Wellers as well! I'm even loving that cheeky big bore exhaust. :D

That Lada is definately class, love it :) . I reckon if everyone drove Lada's the roads would be a much safer place!!

Welcome to da club, innit!

Fingers crossed, mine will be up and running within a month (although I said that about 6 months ago). We can have funtimes comparing the play in our steering boxes 8)

Rivas are great. Simple three box design, basic mechanicals, super efficient heater, massive boot...what's not to like!

Aye!

I had a 1200 back in 1991 with a Peco Universal in place of the back box - sounded lush!

So it's a 1500 - cheap tax too. Have you been doing your arm exercises for the steering yet???:lol::lol:

Even I had one of these things. I think mine was a 1500. Don't remember that much about it. I know it had a 'scene' roofrack about 20 years ago.

Oh, it went across ploughed fields well, I remember that.

Where abouts in the country are you?

Well, I'm setting off soon on a 4/5 hr trip on trains.

Wish me luck!

Love these Ladas , mate had one years ago he used to do trialing in , had RUSSIAN AROUND painted down both sides , it amused me anyway

Good luck and enjoy the journey home. I had a powder blue one I used for minicabbing, it never let me down but the customers never asked for me after the first journey, they preferred the Mercs etc, revenge for LADA at last hahahahahaha :lol::lol:

Some people, eh? Tch... :roll::wink:

Nice. Looking at the tell-tale clues in the picture, I would say a two owner car..last owner about...umm...6 years?

Am I right?

Posted

I think so.

I am definately the third owner.

How do u know?

Just something I picked up on looking at the front of the car. I reckon that left the factory around June 1996 so probably got a chassis ending 2484 or 2485?

Posted

Its too dark to confirm that, but I reckon you know the car. Martin? Nath?

Loving the OEM headlamp protectors!! :D

When I had my first one (about 10 years ago) a dealership were changing hands and selling off all their 'factory extras' cheap - I got a pair of said lamp covers, branded floor mats, and an awesome set of grey velour seat covers with red piping and the Lada logo embossed in the middle. Really should've kept them :(

You've suddenly reminded me. I once had a Lada t-shirt many years ago. Wish I still had it now!

I think it was acquired via my mum's friend, who had a brother that worked at a Lada dealership or Lada UK, something like that. I've a feeling I got some other Lada merchandise too, but sadly I don't have any of it any more.
