Help me decide

It's "new" car time... winter is coming, and my mk2 cortina is unsuitable (no heater, wipers are shit, mrs S hates it, plus 3 years as a daily and it is developing some issues.. Anyone got some tina 2 back springs?) Everything I find on ebay is either too far from fixable or I get outbid. I need a car with a good heater, and a boot big enough for a wheelchair and some shopping, 4 door would be a bonus. Conor still wants a volga. I'm not to sure, and not keen on going 2000 miles to view one.

Nothing in the yard would fix quickly enough (unless I get real lucky with the scorpio) I need a car like NOW.

i can sort of understand the words of your post, but the only real message I am getting out of the whole paragraph is the words OLD VOLVO ESTATE for some reason.

Yeah, that would do nicely... I was in stoke on trent on thursday collecting a cortina too! Autofive could have driven it back. (or broken it on the way...) Thing is, I was rather hoping that I'd own a certain gold ambassador today so I hadn't been looking til now. Anything else?

Ratdat's Renault 11? Seems an absolute steal at £275 (on Retro-Rides). Big boot AND a beige interior for maximum win.

EDIT - or a CX estate!

I'm still not desparate enough to buy a renault (sorry, but "horse and cart" come higher up the list) and I can't afford the CX, otherwise I would do. Mrs S loved our BX even though it broke every 5 minutes (or half mile, whichever sooner)

I have two possibilities in play at the moment, both Volvos. Shoot me now....

Would shoot you, but I'm sort of wishing my CX would magically turn into a Volvo, so it seems like a sensible move to me!

My BX is fine. Guess it's the luck of the draw with Citroens!

Rover 25. Cos they're brilliant. A man such as yourself should be able to keep even an iffy one in tip top order. Good ones are £800-1000. The diseasel ones are GR8, petrol ones are GR9, furnace-like heaters.

GRATUITIOUS ROVER PIC!!

Bloody hell, you still got that? I could be tempted and the missus says "mm, ok, I like saabs.."(but she is thinking of 96s and 99s..) what's left on it T7T wise, and how much?

MOT until June, Tax up the end of this month, it's on Car and Classic at £425 but I put that price on it when the tax disc had 5 months to run, so open to sensible offers.

Nissan Bluebird GSXi automatic hatchback should be at the very top of your shopping list. Conviently enough I happen to have one for sale :D

My Sierra's up for sale now if it's of interest?

1990 Sapphire LX,

1.8 CVH (PLEASE READ ON!) manual in gunmetal grey

Tax til 30/11/10 and MOT end of May '11.

You might expect me to say that I have to pump about 3 litres of oil into it a week since it's such a smokey engine but honestly I have no problems with it whatsoever. Has 61000 miles on the (5 digit) odometer, which I fully believe due to condition. Looks like it's had it's rear arches fettled in the past though small signs of bubbling starting to re-appear.

Here's a pic from last summer. Must say it's pretty similar but for the lack of wheeltrims, which were nicked off it a few months back. Plus this October weather doesn't paint it in such a great light. Has some battle scars from its pensioner previous owners though I've lived with them

Would be happy with £400 for it. Have got more pics of it somewhere, including one of the nice clean interior. Will fish them out if you think it might be of interest, or best still, take new ones. The guy across the road who's a bit of a home-dealer when it comes to cars, says he gets so much interest about it from mates wanting to re-shell rally cars with it, so wants to buy. Thing is, it's so useful as a whole car it seems a shame to do that. Plus, no price has been mentioned so I've a feeling he'd offer £100 or something miserable.

I'm only in York and am due up in Newcastle in the next 2 weeks, so could even deliver!

Well, it looks like my decision has been made for me...

Fred has just bought a volvo 240 on ebay (in northumberland) so it looks like I'll be looking after it for a while.

Next time I need a car in a hurry though, I'll ask here first...

Sierra! aaaaaghhh! what the hell, I might have that anyway ;) but I now have a space problem. I'll do some weighing in and let you know.
