Peugeot 204

I've know about this remarkable 19,000 mile Peugeot 204 for a while down here but have only recently had a chance to get some pictures of it. Belongs to a local garage owner who's a bit of a Peugeot nut (like me.) Also has this rather crustier 304 Coupe standing outside as well, which I think may be for sale. Love 204s.

If I wasn't 'saving myself' becuase i'm seeing the GF tonight, i'd be tossing myself silly all over these pictures. If I owned a 204 i'd just park it outside a cafe and sit in it smoking Gitanes all day, reading Le Monde.

They're both lovely looking. You really dont see enough old Pugs about.

..Other than the 504 Cab at a show the last one I saw in a normal environment was a completely buggered 304 Cab, which must have been laid up a good 10 years.

Don't hold back! Use it to put a "wank in the bank". She'll thank you for it later!

There's a coincidence.

Here's mine-currently in everyday use.

Cos its only a 'lil engine, and it feels strained above 70, I tend to use it for local runs, but its fun to drive, cheap to run, and depreciation free. hopefully, it'll be reliable too -soon!

Yes-Olivers a really nice man -but the car did need some sorting...

Came with enough spares to virtually build another -except for the exhaust, which I'm having a lot of trouble obtaining - the old one becoming a true lashup.

Wuz -I've been watching that one too! Trying to 'justify' it to me (then the wife).

Doesn't help its only just over the other side-do-able in a daytrip (so she'd never know). Perhaps

I really like the front of them but am not in love with the rear. It looks like a mini Ro80 to me, which is fine but doesn't really do it for me.

Would roll in that 204 coupe all day long though. Rather than 'parking it outside a cafe and sitting in it smoking Gitanes all day', i would probably wear a porkpie hat and sit in it injecting heroin a'la French Connection II.

A very hairy old geezer used to drive a green 204 estate near my old gaff in Bristol. D reg (65/66 ?). If I recall correctly, the rear of the estate didn't change in appearance like the saloon - in fact, wasn't it carried over the same to the 304?

Speaking of 204s, I have recently been getting the horn for this baby on leboncoin.fr

Proper early one and everything.

fuck me that's nice - if I wasn't just about to end my current contract I'd have that like a shot! sans carte gris or not!

I'm sure I'd seen alloys like those before, then remembered they were on the 'accessories' page of a 1977 Renault Model Range brochure ..adorning a Renault 6 no less!! Are they Renault ones?

If nothing else this gives me another excuse to upload pictures of my two 204 Coupes I had in the nineties. Gold one was the last RHD one that existed, unfortunately scrapped. White one ended up on ebay five or so years ago in a pretty poor state.

That gold one has just made me spaff everywhere. Wow. Why was it scrapped? Was it written off or something?

No, unfortunately it was rotten as a pear underneath so I utilised all the best bits (including the reg no) for a much nicer 204 Cabriolet I had which is still around apparently. I did regret that for a while, I actually prefer the fixed head to the cabrio.
