Free books will be available to collect!

Enzo Ferrari: A Life by Richard Williams - a paperback biography of Mr Enzo himself. A very good read.

Driving Like Crazy by P J O'Rourke - as read and recommended (sort of) by Mr Bollocks himself!

Either one free to whoever PM's me - I will bring both to the day for pick-up.

EDIT EDIT EDIT..STOP PRESS.....

Mr Ton Tops has claimed 'Driving like Crazy'

I'll be there - probably with one of the kids but Mrs Gareth wouldn't be dragged there by a team of horses, offering cake and expensive shoes

I've just rang the museum and spoke to the lady there, She said that it wasn't a problem us all descending on them on Sunday, They have room for 25 cars and that she looks forwards to seeing us. :D

Posted

Thanks Trigger. Did you say who "we" were?

Dolly, didn't you look at the Herald at the BMC rally? I can't remember now.

Posted

Didn't get chance with trying to get an event report bagged Seth - only saw it at a distance!

Well she did ask what club we was from, I explained that we was from a forum called Autoshite, She was stunned into silence. :?

So we might not get a banner across the entrance saying "Stondon Motor Museum Welcomes Autoshite" then.... They're probably worried about the bunch of reprobates that are going to turn up now. We'll send Pog in first. :D

Are you absolutely sure that is the best course of action?

Posted

Sadly I won't be there, I'm working and to be honest I couldn't afford a third trip South this month if I wasn't working

You're a local. You'll speak their language.

Posted

I'm local...

Can't understand a word of them Bedfordshire village folk, either :)

I might pop along - if the invite's still an open one that is.

Shall I bring the Beta Saloon or just the Alfa Six? Dunno.

Are you the bloke at Willington then?

Posted

No I am not a bloke at Willington :?

Where's this Willington fella? It's not around here. Willington is up norf, waaaay beyond these hills.

So if there is a Willington Beta owner who's also got a Six, I would like to meet. Unless there is a time-space continyum in my garage.

All a bit last minute but that's the Audi 100LS dropped off at the MOT centre in Royston. Skoda-mad DaveRapid of this parrish is sorting an MOT today/tomorrow, so fingers crossed on that. Exhaust pipe welded back together yesterday and she drives great, in fact that's the first drive she's had in well over 6 months. If all goes well I'll be driving her on Sunday along and will likely have Mr H Sceptre as co-driver, unless he can locate the lost keys to the infamous Maxi by then..... 8)

Ah, good ol' Dave. Has he been invited? His only problem would be deciding which Skoda to bring...

Posted

I'm really looking forward to this but will likely be off line until then so can't wait to put faces to so many names!

:D

x2!. :P

Will anyone be bringing the autoshite banner? It would make a good photo with all our shite cars outside with the AS banner i think.

I'd better ask - I could do an event report on this for a mag or two. Are people up for that or would we rather keep Autoshite under the radar so to speak?

Very much looking forward to it here too.

I have no problem with that, That's why i was thinking about the banner, I know who who has it now though, It was up north the last time i read about it.

I'd vote to keep it 'quiet' tbh.

Feel free to ignore my opinion though.

Anyway, looking forward to Sunday!

We get mentioned (albeit in very small print) every issue of PC and it doesn't seem to do much harm, I think it'd be quite funny to see it in print, especially if everyone turns up in moderns because of the weather!

I think the banner was with the scouse contingent - I think Minimad5 and/or warren T Claim, so it's probably been sold to buy skag.

Re: name badges.....not a bad idea, although I've met dollywobbler, (although he probably wont remember,) dave Rapid (ditto) and seth (who might). I'm "friends" with trigger, pog and barrett on faecesbook, but that means nothing!

For referenve I'm the 6ft tall baldy bloke with the beer belly, as is my brother, which may cause some confusion. I'll be in the Escort pervertable.....

Do we have a list of attendees so far?

We could start on if you want?.
