Shite wedding cars

There is some chat on the fake ferrari thread about people's wedding cars. (Shite or otherwise)

How did you and your lovely new spouse travel to and from the venue?

I'll start. I got a lift with the best man in a company Audi, but that was left at the pub and we walked to the ceremony.

My lovely bride was taken in her dads company VW Touran.

So far, so glamorous.

After the ceremony we left the venue to begin married life in the back of my dads Suzuki Wagon R.

I wanted to hire a DB9 for the honeymoon weekend,  but the cost was just mad, so I polished the Sapphire (c word) for the occasion.

The bloody thing dumped 20 litres of super unleaded on the petrol forecourt so we went in an Octavia Estate..

Yeah, I had to look it up too. Transport was organised by my father in law who was in the private hire industry at the time, cant remember what the bridesmaids went in but my best man sorted me out with his mate’s freshly restored mk1 XR2!

My brother (who was my Best Man) and I went to the venue in the Galaxie below.

Wife and I went in a Panamera to our reception, a joint choice. Annoyingly the advertised 'Panamera Turbo' was a diesel.

And he gave you a handy reminder of the date. Good man.

I travelled to my wedding in a friend's Marina Coupe.

And we left together in a Mercedes 190 fintail.

Before heading home in my lightly* patinated Ph1 Laguna.

Quite a shiteful day, in fairness.

When I was best man for my mate a few years back, it was one of these all in one wedding venue places, so the transportation didn't matter - therefore the groom, myself and the other groomsman arrived in style* in what was at the time my 6-month old J11 Qashqai.

Due to working in the motor trade and having access to new vehicles, Father_Markeh did occasionally get asked to do favours like this, including for one of my mother's friends back in around 2012/2013. What he didn't count on at the time was the sale of the group he worked for (the Co-op Motor Group, formerly Sunwin, being bought by Vertu) that did not include stock, meaning all the cars not transferring over were meant to be going on the Friday, the day before the wedding. With some negotiations it was agreed that his car (at the time, not just a Mk1 Peugeot 3008, it was the Hybrid4 version!) could stay until the Monday!

We hired a Daimler DB18 but as we got married at a hotel only my wife and father in law got to ride in it, I went with my brother who was my best man in my Frogeye sprite.

My wedding was about 40 miles from where most of the guests lived , so a bus was hired to take us there. At least it was white.

It wasn’t false advertising.

Were I describing my car I wouldn't usually capitalise its features. But yes a diesel Panamera has a 'Turbo'. Top comment.
