I'm regrettably putting the Escy up for sale as we kinda need the money as the old man is stone broke.

So here's the eBay link to anyone who wants to have a look at it

I'm off to sit in a dark room and cry.

Thanks mate, it's worth a million quid to me but I have to let her go :(

Maybe buy it and store it for next year?

Wow - who is that cheeky sort in your avatar? :P

Alexg - I have no idea who she is but she would get it. Every day.

WoC - lol, I know how it is - this will be the first time we are down to 2 (and a broken one) cars in over 5 years. Driveway looks so bare!

Domestic violence is nothing to boast about

Domestic violating maybe?

Boasting very much encouraged, maybe over a couple of beers and in earshot of some family out for a nice quiet meal

I don't think that would be a good idea....think of the children!

That ginger is from Paramore, si?

Anyway.... That Escort is really nice. Seems fairly odd seeing one with its original wheels as most of the owners loved to change them for some horrible alloy. Trigger, have you thought of owning an 80s Cabriolet? This must be short enough, surely.

Nah it's Alex Sim-Wise, she writes for Front mag. I always liked these Escorts, still can't work out why though, looks really nice.

I has no clue, I randomly found this dolly-bird on t'internet and thought she'd be good for avatar-status...

Thanks bramm, she is 99% original, apart from the CD player - all the wheeltrims are the 1984 factory originals too.

*EDIT* yeah that sounds familiar. I definitely would.

Looks like she's pretending to put something in her mouth judging by the shape of her cheek? Doing her teeth maybe?

Funny enough i was looking at a B plate Mk 3 XR3i that was for sale today near my in laws, It was up for £1100 ono with a years ticket, The owner said he'd take £900 for it but it needed a bit of work, It had a few dents, Paint over the interior, quite rusty and water in the boot, It's not been on the road since 2007 and was used as a doner car for spares, swapping the parts from one to another. I walked away.

F*cking hell, I'm giving mine away then at that price!

A well written, legible Ebay ad with proper photos and no caps lock or red comic sans? I'd forgotten they existed

 that's me blushing. Thanks  I think it deserves a good description - not that I actually DO WRT LYK DIS NEWAY INIT. Got a few people watching it now which is filling me with confidence that it will sell fairly easily.

That's a bloody lovely car and a million times better than the usual Barry'd up shit seen driven round housing estates at 80mph. I think it throroughly deserves (and should find) a decent home.

Thanks Cavette :D I have said to myself that I will try and vet people who come round and look at it. I don't want to see it with four fucking spoilers or gypped up to be an 'XR3 rep init'. I have took great care in preserving it's originality and I think it just needs to find a chap who will look after her and keep her like she was back in the mid-80's.

TBH most Mk 3 Escorts these days tend to get bought by enthusiasts who look after them rather then chavs who Gary them up, I saw a few at Battlesbridge Ford show today in fact being well cared for.
