Eg 205 GTI for £100k (I think?) and Delta Integrale for £even more. I also saw a mk1 Escort project that was similarly expensive. There must be a market for them, perhaps it's overseas eg USA/Japan/Middle Ea$t? 100% the Japanese would lap that up. At least it’s not had the engine ripped out and a soulless electric motor fitted as seems to be the fashion when you get more money than sense. It’s akin to buying Blenheim Palace and fitting some ghastly external insulation and a heat pump to ‘futureproof’ it. The best way to ‘Futureproof’ these things is to keep pillocks away from them. LightBulbFun Posted January 14 Posted January 14 1 hour ago, grogee said: Maybe we've already discussed this @LightBulbFun but is there a way to contact the Doovla and get the vehicle make or model updated/changed? I'm thinking that's what has happened here. Because there's no way Longbridge had anything to do with that abortion. oh entirely so, my favourite one is AC Cobra owners (and other owners of Genuine AC Cars Ltd Cars) who dont under that "AC (ELECTRIC)" is correct for a period Thames Ditton register AC (because the DVLA themselves fucked up the lookup table) so they ask the DVLA to change it and then end up with "ACSHELBYCOBRA289" all as one clusterfuck on the "Make" field... the thing to do with the "Cooper S Type" is V888 it and see what the actual deal is, explicitly ask to see how the Vehicle record was first setup on the DVLA computer and any changes made to it through out time, and the such like one interesting thing I recall about it is that although AGU944Y is its original period plate, is that from very early on it its life it wore ASV240 until 2020 or so, when it sold on eBay, unsurprisingly it was bought for its plate, and then put right back on eBay once it had the plate taken off it (amusingly ASV240 is itself was a age related DVLA issue plate from Bristol's initial December 1983 allocation) so I have always found that curious, must of been a bit special to someone in that regard to get a private plate like that right away lesapandre and 500tops 1 1

Back in 2007 ish i bought a VP500 metro for £300 and there was a guy on the forum that had a W+P and a tickford both of which were so cool. the tickford was more performace orientated IIRC The Frazer Tickford Metro, a sort of ancestral Aston Martin Cygnet. Take a basic city car, get a famous name to stuff it full of bespoke luxury and performance bits, jack up the price to that of a proper executive car and then wonder why it doesn't sell. I've seen that photo before. IIRC it was taken at Willen Lake in Milton Keynes and the WMJ141X plates were borrowed from a Tickford employee's Cortina for the photoshoot as it was still unregistered. lesapandre, grogee, face and 2 others 5

Like the Panther Rio or the Rapport Ritz, when all said and done it’s mutton dressed as lamb. People can see straight through that bullshit and then just buy a proper luxury car. 😂 lesapandre and motorpunk 1 1

Money lost all the value anyway, and companies seem to be catering towards rich clientele, rather than average folks as well.
