Rod/b Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 Bloody hell, it looks like the Metro was just the first of a range:
Milford Cubicle Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 'FOR LONDON' - the camera lingering on his jeering colleagues at the end of that video is pretty depressing.
Negative Creep Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 Oh, and is the owner of that Corsa some kind of massive spastic? Rhetorical question I presume?
trigger Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 That Metro looks shitter every time i see it, I can't imagine it winning many races involving corners, It looks like it would just tip over. Also talking of Metros, What's going on with the bonnet of the one on the right, It doesn't look right to me?.
scaryoldcortina Posted August 11, 2010 Author Posted August 11, 2010 Let this be a lesson to anyone that comes up with a good idea to help sort out our road problems. I went to all the trouble of biulding not one but two cars, at a cost to me of around 1,50000 quid. the second car was being biult because TOP GEAR were kinda interrsted in the car, however after one year I got the message that it would never go on TOP GEAR. The car works really well as you can see. I was not going to or could take the idea any futher. So here it is on YOU TUBE. to say I tried and I died..Thanks for your, time. The second metro just looks like the bonnet is open.
Mr_Bo11ox Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 I wonder how much 1,50000 quid is? I notice in one of his clips he describes it as a 'NORROW CAR FOR PLACES LIKE LONDON'
scaryoldcortina Posted August 11, 2010 Author Posted August 11, 2010 £1,50000? well, it's got to be £150,000 or £1,500,000 but maybe the comma is a decimal not a separator, in which case its £1.50. I like how his youtube video descriptions have changed. I didn't know that he was blaming Top Gear not ringing him back for the failure! PMSL, what exactly did he think Clarkson & co would say/do if they did use it?
Rod/b Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 About Me: hi, well i am a kinda inventer as you can seejust trying to get my car noticed..i have about 6 things (inventions) i would like to get out there once i can get my car out...I'd just love to see what else he's got up his sleeve.
scaryoldcortina Posted August 11, 2010 Author Posted August 11, 2010 Is the stupid downing st "petition" site still running? Someone should start a rescue the bullit car petition. Or a facebook group/twatter feed/whatever. Better yet, selll the idea to MSN motors.Another random roadside spot. Don't know anything about it.

Actually, he left his notes in the glovebox. 1. Take a boat, remove the middle and stitch the sides back together to make a sort of norrow boat. This will then fit nicely in a canal with room for another boat to pass it. This is to be called "The bullet Boat for gloucester and Sharpness" 2. Sandwiches can be made much cheaper by eliminating the filling, creating the economical "bullet snack" whicch is essentially 2 bits of bread. Slogan to be "eat a bullet, you know you want to" 3. Make a special narrow train that runs on one set of wheels, thereby allowing two trains to travel on the same track, doubling our rail capacity. Note: name "bullet train" already taken... must think of better name.
Guest Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 Howay man! Moaty sez... End your life early with a Bullit!
Formula Autos Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 Mention 'Bullit car' to anyone with even a passing interest in cars and they'll probably expect to see a green '67 Mustang - snarling V8 and all. Due to the level of expectation this raises, presenting them with a narrow Metro wasn't ever really going to work that well, was it? As business plans go, taking something shite and making it even shittier takes some beating. This didn't appear on Dragons Den at any time did it, by any chance? If so, I would be searching YouTube in an instant for that clip.

red5 Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 I think you are confusing 'shite' and 'shit' there...
scaryoldcortina Posted August 11, 2010 Author Posted August 11, 2010 This is shit and shite all roled into one. It's even shite coloured. I took this pic the day KB got the thing, 3 years ago. Still there, hasn't moved at all. (2 cars up from the bullet)Similar theme inside. Bought this golf off the nostril corsa's owner, intending to fix it for my daughter. It was a shed. But I tried. I even painted it.. It takes a lot to make her cry, but I succeeded...
Pillock Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 Am I seeing this right.... Bullit Metro owner also built a Bullit Astra Mk3? Yet still failed to realise ease of parking and manoeuvring is down to length, not width (as I tell any girls who will listen).
scaryoldcortina Posted August 11, 2010 Author Posted August 11, 2010 Yes, you have it right. He half built a narrowed astra as well. The plan was not so much to make parking easier as relieve congestion by putting 2 narrow cars side by side in the same lane. After all, it works so well for horses and cyclists ;D
scaryoldcortina Posted August 11, 2010 Author Posted August 11, 2010 Found an artist's impression of the larger "executive" style bullit...
Pillock Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 But the cars are a greater width than half a regular car. Especially the Astra, it's only had about a foot chopped out of it. And until everyone owns a Bullit car, you can't make lanes narrower. In fact you'd need Bullit trucks and buses too before that can happen. So you have wasted space. Without narrower lanes, you can't safely travel side by side - what if the car on the left side of the lane wants to turn right? So, in conclusion, what a twunt.
Formula Autos Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 So this is a five door, but two seater car? Genius! Thank God the build quality saved the day here - those joins in the plastic trim are only visible if you zoom right in and concentrate hard. If you have sight problems that is - otherwise it looks like some idiot's gone mad with a tube of black mastic.
scaryoldcortina Posted August 11, 2010 Author Posted August 11, 2010 Cortina parking only, others will be crushed.30 years of white van manIn one small town, there are as many New beetle herbies as there are chevannes anywhere in the uk. FACTAAAgh. It's THAT 260z (shudder) Basterds still have my DNA. Must write to new govt asap.Ultimate shitemobile. This 2.2 626 GLXi 4x4 executive was free (given away on a forum) I ran it for a year, it was 100% reliable right up to the day the gearbox exploded. Weighed it in for £400 at the height of the '08 scrap boom (£120 was the catalyst) Peter Kaye's mini-me approved of this one. he likes blue. Not only is this a Laurel, it lives in Stanley....I can count the number of times a car has come in for test and I've had to go errr. what is it. That number is one, this one.
scaryoldcortina Posted August 11, 2010 Author Posted August 11, 2010 Pint of bitter in a thin glass to the first man to spot the relevence here...
scaryoldcortina Posted August 11, 2010 Author Posted August 11, 2010 Exit from the Get Carter car park in Gateshead. In a mk2 Cortina as driven by Michael Caine (not a lot of people know that). Can I stand next to the five-fingered chap whilst I drink my pint of bitter from a thin glass?exactly. I often dream of re-enacting famous movie scenes with the right car, and have no hope of getting to the italian alps in an aston db5 ragtop, but gateshead in a cortina I can do
scaryoldcortina Posted August 12, 2010 Author Posted August 12, 2010 This came in for repair once, but he came back for it before I got a chance to head for the swiss border on it.

The car park is being demolished. May even have finished by now.
eddyramrod Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 I might not have had a Mustang, but SF in a Chevy Suburban is a pretty good substitute (also Las Vegas, Route 66, Pacific Coast Highway... that was a good holiday!). My friend Andy has a red Mustang just like Bond had in Diamonds Are Forever, and we were joined at one show by a Starsky & Hutch Torino and a Bandit Firebird. I made sure all three were parked together... I also had a Sweeney set at one time: Mk1 Granada 3.0 and Mk3 Cortina 2.0GT. Sadly the colours were wrong, and I never got down to London with either car.
