Pictures I've Saved

I tend to save a lot of pictures off the Internet (SHUT UP), so I thought I'd upload some here. Maybe you'll have seen some and you can relive all those memories.

Here's a glorious North Korean police car which is likely to still be in service. Apparently they liked the W123 so much over there that they built their own (unlicensed) copies which had dreadful weatherproofing, so if you drove them out of town the interiors would fill up with dirt and dust. Would like to hear more about that.

Learner car from Tucker's Luck.

Posted Image

Saved this off eBay not that long ago, from the days where MK2 Cavaliers would be covered in tat and be blasting a rave tape.

Posted Image

This is more RUBBISH than anything else, but I liked the way the tat spreads onto the house.

Posted Image

4-door Montrose! Well, Capella. Late one.

Posted Image

Finally (for now), the wonderful "Shonky Limo and Cosy Coupe" combo. More to come shortly!

Posted

GR8 to see the wanky-limo/cozy-coupe shot again.

The guy who took that incredible shot and then thought it would help to sell his disgusting hen-night-taxi on eBay has all kinds of incredible rammle in his yard, however there is also a lot of cliche "tattoo'd brainless thug with a bit of cash" vehicles dotted about the place (impreza's, 90's medallion man jap coupes with 18" high gold signwriting down the doors saying "player", that kind of thing) that deter me from going to have a decent snoop around the place. I would imagine the chap to describe himself as a "part time security consultant" when the inevitable trial for sexual assault or vicious thuggery hits the local papers.

Some Buick GS off eBay, I would quite happily cruise around in it all day.

Posted Image

Liberians enjoying a day out in the Charmant.

Posted Image

This was off some old Kei-car racing site years ago, the expression of the blokes cracks me up.

Posted Image

Nissan Laurel. If they think theirs is breathless, they should have a go in my 1.8 4-cyl LPG one.

Posted Image

Here's something to perk you up a bit. Some dealer on American eBay was selling a load of tatty cars, so he tried to make them seem more appealing by having this bird draped over their lacquer-peeled bonnets. That's a Lexus ES.

Absolutely horrid Hustler-based ice cream van. Nice work fellas.

Posted

You're so cynical POG!

Do you remember or have a pic of the three litre Capri from Tuckers Luck?

Posted

Agreed, the ice cream van is QUAL.

I just like how William Towns basically had ONE design and then managed to flog the idea to several folk just by standing nearer or further when displaying the artist drawings.

Compare/contrast the amusingly-named Hustler with the equally SHITE (but opposite end of the spectrum) AM Lagonda.

Posted

Doesn't some random person on Retro Rides own a Hustler? I seem to remember getting a right raging soft-on over it.

Look at the fucking seats in it! They're out of a doctors waiting room!

Posted

Posted Image

WRESTLING.

Posted Image

An almost impossibly ugly Corona taxi, I love it, looks so dumpy on its little steels.

Posted Image

Weird service Galant. Think it's a driving school car.

Posted Image

The much-disliked Crown (MS105) facelift. Not disliked by me, I love it!

Posted Image

Mitsubishi Debonair AMG, shut up, it's great.

Posted Image

And a nice big chunk of 929/Luce Legato.

Posted

Does the HIRST hard drive contain any photos of the Jap S1 XJ6 copy by any chance? I think it looks quite convincing from the front.

Posted

Posted Image

Luce fliplight. COR.

Posted Image

March/Micra saloon, it exists.

Posted Image

Snouty-nose Coronet taxi, what a beauty!

Posted Image

Pony taxi from some Korean film.

Posted Image

And another Pony! Look at him, he's so happy.

Posted Image

This was a spot on here I think, I like the extra wiper on the top screen.

Posted

I'd extend the column and make remote pedals/gearchange for that "dawdling green" Rover Metro

Posted

That metro's near me, I'm sure of it! A lad in the back on a wheelchair!

There's a March saloon in Manchester, one of the roads off near the criminal courts.

Glad it's not just me that does this then :D

I was itching to see the cosy coupe/lousy limo shot again, cheers!

What is a Lexus ES, is it a fancy Camry? The North American market got quite a lot of Lexii we didn't. I think they even got a Lexus version of the Toyota Land Cruiser.

Mitsubishi Debonair AMG, shut up, it's great.

I think I saved this pic too - RR Yahoo Auctions thread perhaps?

Posted

Do you have the toy boat on the roof of the VW Golf picture?

That was one of my faves from the good days of RR.

That rubbish emo kid used to make me rofl.

Posted

The Hirst Library of Automotive Success and Failure.

Hey, you could make TV show out of that! Get that Victoria Coren to host as she likes libraries 'n stuff.

Oh, its Mystery Machine over on R-R who picked up two hustlers over the winter, a roadster version and a six wheeler.

Who's that then? I like laughing at TEH_EMOs, especially as the meaning has changed well loads since I were a crap EMO. Mostly I couldn't be arsed and bought one Sunny Day Real Estate album. I got my CD 'street sweeper' jeans covered in oil when I went down the scrappy so I cut them back.

I didn't have the shit haircut either, it was too expensive.

Posted

lol I was probably EMO_LITE for a while. Even got the hair dye but could never be arsed. Looked like it would a right mess of the bathroom...

edit: oh and that Mitsi AMG had a quick mention in a J performance mag recently. I'll try and dig it out.

Saw a 6-wheel Hustler in Stafford last week. Traffic not conducive to impromptu photography, unfortunately...

NOT AE86 DRIFT, mainly because it's the 1.5 non-sports one.

This is what all the MK2 Escorts on my estate looked like.

Gene Wilder having the aerial on his Tredia tampered with.

I think riding a C5 around in the rain would be the most depressing thing you could possibly do, moreso than drowning a puppy in the sink.

Posted Image

An old Luce. Nice trousers!

Posted Image

Samsung SM525V. Sounds like an air conditioning unit, but it isn't.

Posted Image

When I get fed up of my 323 Estate, I just look at this picture and it makes me want to get some work done on it.

Posted Image

Nice early Charmant!

Excellent - here's just one from my flickr-account:

Just leave a space before the close bracket, or tick the Disable Smilies box when you post.
