Love these. These earlier ones fascinate me, they almost look too modern to be on C plates. And I reckon they're the best wheeltrims ever.

'corroded' appears in just about every MOT, referring to every part [except roof lol] 😯

A true warrior 👍

Here's the local 3-door Astra Estate, in yellow!

That’s the colour I was on about, the one my parents looked at was a hatch. What an awesome looking old thing that is!

I always thought the Astras of that generation looked more modern than their years. Modern enough that the Daewoo Nexia managed to look (just about) current generation ten years later.

Happy memories here! My grandad ran a J (or g, can't fully remember) 4 door Astra in that red pogweasel pink as his work shitter during the 90s and until he retired in the early 2000s.

He worked very near where I lived at the time so would pick me up on a Friday and take me home for a weekend regularly (mum wasn't well when I was a kid), so I'd spend alot of time in it! Usually in the back though,

Granny had a blue nova 4 door 'Luxe' at the time too (which replaced a d reg 3 door nova in green) . Proper Vauxhall lickers they were

Wasn't pogweasled back then! Deep vibrant red.

Although now you've said that I can't remember the last time I saw a pogweasled car of any colour on the road 🤔 😢

I do and the Antibes models with their similarly funky interior colours.

I nearly bought a mark 2 in 1997 having looked at a couple but chickened out, a 1.3 L and 1.6 GL. Had I took the plunge I had the idea of swapping the tweedy seats over in favour of those from a scrapped CD spec for the full velour experience.

The Tiffany and Starmist were quite swish.

The mark 2 Astra must resonate in some way with anyone over the age of 40. Surely we all had some kind of experience with one. They were just everywhere once.

My Dad's friend owned a Astra Club back in the mid 90's along with his ex Royal Fail Sherpa Van. Remember the lairy interior, thought it looked well naff though at the time!

Found a picture of a Nova Club interior, actually slightly less naff than I thought.  Looks like two shades of Grey then Yellow.  I bet keeping that interior spotless though would have been a pita.

Several pals had then in early 2000s, one had a gl  for £200 and another a gte 8v for £500. Neither where unsightly, never seemed needy. So cheap!

in my house now the older kids have a Astra g bertone and recently an Astra h sxi sports hatch again bought for relative peanuts decent spec and just an car really.

I’d love a mk1 gte but they dissolved in the 90s like most cars I liked.
