Not sure if you've seen it but an upgraded diesel heater with a better configuration has appeared with a much quieter diesel pump so very little clicking to put up with. Hopefully they'll all follow suit.

I fitted the Planar 'silent' pump to mine around 4 years ago, and that is great although cost as much as the whole heater did! If you listen out for it whilst the fan is on minimum you can just about hear it, but most of the time you just can't hear it at all. Do you have a link to the updated heater? I assume the Chinese have copied the pump just like they did with the heater.

It was this one, obviously US based vid but you know what they are like for copying each other. First one of his videos I've seen, not sure if there's a break down of one as yet?

That sounds interesting! Im a bit weird in that the clicking helps me sleep. I’m awful at sleeping in complete silence so I quite like it!

It's like putting a clock in a puppies bed..

Thanks mate!

In other news, FINALLY I have a diesel heater!

So what do you do when you want a particular model heater but they’re out of stock everywhere?

Buy the “suitcase” version, it’s all the same stuff but comes in a portable case, no use to go in a vehicle for safety reasons due to the exhaust… but if you dismantle it you end up with a ‘normal’ heater.. and it was cheaper than the separate out of stock version 😂

What was the verdict on this one in the end? I seem to remember you are pretty up on these things @cobblers too. I've seen an American video of a new type that's been made with a much quieter pump.

Asking as my sister is living in a freezing cold house with an air source heat pump and it's absolutely rinsing them in electric at the moment.

Yeah it’s great! I stripped it all down and fitted it to a turret, it’s worked faultless each time we’ve used it 👍

Is it fitted with a quieter pump? Looking at the suitcase 2 version they have brought out and looks like a nice easy solution? Stick it in a weatherproof box outside, core hole thru the wall, bit of pipe, job jobbed.

People often fit them in a gas meter box or similar, looks inconspicuous too!

Mines the original pump, I just upgraded the hose and filter. I don’t mind the ticking but I know it annoys most people!

Vans are 60mph on a dual carriageway.. don't ask how I know... twice.

Dual purpose and campers can do 70..

Built up areas in Wales figures are totally inaccurate, it's not all built up areas.

@JJ0063only just discovered this thread, even on page 3 the build looks great 😀😀😀

@JJ0063 just read the whole thread and what a fantastic job you've done, really really inspirational.

I really fancy a Master to convert and this is only helping that decision, don't think I'll be lucky enough to get one anywhere the price you paid though, all seem a lot more than that.

@comfortablynumb don't worry about wiring mate, it's really straightforward. Ok I do it pretty much everyday as a job I know 🤣🤣🤣, but honestly there's so much help out there to get it done and with the advent of cheap LED lighting and usb charging, it's even easier to get exactly what you want straight off the shelf.

Loads of help on here or online with it 👍🏻👍🏻

Haven’t touched this for ages, good couple of months.

Started first time! We’re going away this weekend for Mrs JJ’s birthday, only to Sheringham, but finished work early today so decided to pull it out and give it a wash as it was growing moss along the window rubbers!

Think it’s the first time I’ve cleaned it tbh. Came up alright.

Thinking of selling this if anyone’s interested. Not sure on what it’s worth though!
