Classics at the village show

Recommended Posts

Been to the Chagford show today a village local to where my folks live in Devon. The old man is one of those morris dancing weirdos and mum had a mate who was running a stall so she helped there for a bit. This gave me plenty of time to explore the beer tent, food venders and the classics on display.

Bit of a pic dump, I didn't pap them all only the ones which were of interest to me.

Correct amount of strokes on this beauty, sounded lovely when it went off for the parade.

Really like this early 80's massey. Had worked the hop farms in Kent and then Sussex before coming down to Devon

Have a need to be sociable now so will just dump a couple of Guzzis and a Tenerre I spotted in Bude yesterday then add the cars later.

Was really hard to stop myself honking the horn on this Cowley. Would of asked permission if the owner was about.

As a keen motorcyclist I must admit these scare me. I would drive it like a twat and at some point find the need to bail slightly compromised.

There's a guy round here who regularly drives a silver one, with no fear. That thing shifts!

Nice honest daily used moggy. Have passed this many times over the years on way to and from my mum and dads.

Two very tidy Capris, this one was my favourite.

Look at this honey. Sat amongst the tat on a stall should of been on more prominent display in my book.

Three favourites till last.

Spoke for ages with the owner of this lovely old thing. Nicely careworn and regularly used by including frequent trips to its home land. Bottom of the doors had rotted through. Was the steel the owner had let in 30 years ago that had gone. Both he and the car itself told a good story.

Hunter! Fella who had done the work wasn't about. His wife did tell me he could of bought a new car with the money he had spent. And that he then stopped telling her the tally.

Nicely done and well used too. Rare as a rate thing.

@Rustybullethole where are your folks based? Chagford not that far from mine and @HMC's neck of the woods.

Well, not mine any more but Mum's still down there.

Might as well bung these in here too.

Went to the coop earlier and stumbled upon these in Fairford.
