Must confess I never ever looked.

i used the internal computer reading  to monitor it and it was serviced regularly so I never needed to 🤣.

Never had a check ABS, used to get a check ESP but that was because the tracking was out but that got fixed.

I got a Christmas tree of lights when the battery died once but it got a new battery in 23 I think and they all went away.

Glad it’s going strong.

The fuel gauge paranoia is just Renault being Renault. It disappears at 60 and I think handbook says that

Handbook.. whats that? Ive seen the covers of it lol haha

Yeah the dash is lit up due to the ABS sensor that I broke! haha! so that is of my own doing! Easy done! (Bloody things).

Took the 207 up to York (park and ride) today and it was faultless. I had the clutch done the other day which wasn't expensive and has transformed the way it drives, I know it wasn't slipping but the biting point is perfect now, it really does drive well and used barely a thimble full of diesel!!  Really is a cracking car 🙂

I thought about getting the clutch done on it, Big gearbox on those? Glad it did not cost too much.

i didn't get it done because as you say it wasnt slipping and I was used to how it was.

I think the next major jobs on the Espace will be Clutch and then the Timing Chains - which is apparently a 14 hour job! Engine out and back in etc.

Unless....@ohdearme did you have a clutch in it in your tenure or chains?

If you took a weekend over it and gave the engine bay a good clean out whilst the engine was out, check the hidden hoses etc and put it back on Sunday it might get more value out of the job?

And you can have a break from lugging the engine about in the middle 😂

Book time was 8 hours but it took way less time so only cost £473 including the 3 piece clutch kit

Luton was achieved today. 3 hours 15 there… 3 hours 44 back due to delays. Got home around 15:30.

Averaged around 38MPG apparently - according to the Motherships onboard computer! I’d say it’s probably about right.

More mileage covered.

Unexpected trip to Helmsley tomorrow as well.

Espace was flawless, smooth..comfortable.. and carried computers with monitors, big printer and all manner of peripherals!

Job well done Espace!

It’s such a comfy and practical thing, you’ll find it hard to get rid of because there are so few jobs it doesn’t do well.

Octo failed the Mot, expected tbh but just a few bushes to sort and I’m good to go again.

Oh indeed - it is definitely earning its keep!

Ahh MOT doesn’t sound too bad! Least it’ll be right!

Ridiculously economical when I had it though you can probably blame me for the clutch wear, that poor thing was driven all over the place!

For those wondering... Clutch needs done soon.. 18hours book time...

Engine out.

Same for the timing chain, so may as well do that once the engines out for the clutch change.

Great car this Espace.

It had both front wheel bearings done, since then its done nothing but whinge its ABS sensors are broken, ... both have now been replaced with brand new.

Plugged it in, faults cleared.

Still saying its ABS sensors are poorly. Live data is showing the sensors are working so something somewhere is not putting 2+2 together.

Hasn't had clutch done yet as I was hoping to sort this bloody ABS sensor issue, it's driving me nuts.

Update, I think the garage I used (not the usual one) have fitted the wheel bearings incorrectly theyve got the inner and outer rings the wrong way round for the ABS - easy mistake to make apparently - but a pain in the arse as these bearings will be rendered useless if removed. So itll be new bearings again. but does need done.

Hull to Ashton-Under-Lyne and back again, roads where treacherous (however that is spelt) even though the Espace is semi-poorly it was superb - came back via A roads,  lots of deep water on the roads - but it handled it with ease!
There was a bad accident in the M62 M18 junction, car had flipped and ended up upside down - was a bad one. Especially when your spotting bits of airbag on the road and not much car left (Skoda Octavia Estate looked to be 70 plate).

Espace really is a trooper, just need to get it back to fine fettle, though the way it drove today you wouldn’t know there was much up, and again… very good on Diesel which is a bonus!

Great to hear the Espace is doing so well, I hope the Vel Satis is half as good as it's sibling here! Will the garage cover the cost of the work at least?

Maybe, I haven’t asked them yet. Cars just don’t sit still long enough at the moment!

Went to Ashton-under-Lyne at the weekend and back - 295 Miles, it did a DPF regen.

Its a flying machine, its more pokier than it really ought to be- it is driving very well indeed!

Love this old thing.

Still showing ABS fault, ignoring that for now!

Still great! Need to go anywhere? UK, Paris, Greece etc… check your fluids, put Diesel in and away you go! In absolute comfort!

Wish it had proper bloody cup holders though!

Yes, it’s something of a sleeper, I was very specific when finding it that I wanted the 175bhp version, it’s got so much reserve grunt for motorways and brilliant at getting off the line if you’ve ballsed up and in the wrong lane.

Sounds a bit of a bugger with the wheel bearings, but glad it’s holding up overall.

It wouldn’t be a Frenchie if it it didn’t have something to complain about yet still just do its job.

Be worth a look under this time of year and just remedy  any minor surface rust underneath if on ramps. Its underbelly was particularly blemish free when I had it. Though the plastic cover on the rear axle beam was something of a road sludge magnet.

Was talking to the wife regards her motability car and it transpired this might become her car mainly when her motability car is returned as she’s not keen on getting another new motor!
