Aw leave him alone, he's just had his audi murdered and is about to start driving a taxi.

Wonder if they do make another series, my 190D will triple in value..? :)Hope its a red one!

Not gonna happen, for this reason (as much as I like the work!). PACE came in in 1985, and immediately made coppers like Gene obsolete. He can't go much beyond 83.

Although there's always the possibility that he really IS a genuine w4nker, and isn't allowed into heaven

The number of times it's referred to as 'his' world leads me to think that he's stuck in purgatory for good, whereas the others are passing through ans stay temporarily in the environment he creates. The only positive thing to his existence is that he gives the other coppers a constant to work with \ against before moving on. Because he tries to keep people for company, he can't redeem himself enough to transcend. On the flip side he has to be a permanent feature of purgatory, otherwise Keats would have had him one way or another, and he seems strong enough to keep him at arms' length as it were.

LOOK it's simple................. 5 seasons of half decent stories, lots of shite, crap music and work for Fred.................it's JUST entertainment...and damn good for it ... ENJOY for feck sake :D:D

Let's hope Demon Barber comes to something, that would make me a happy bunny, and if I get my way, happy bunnies of all of us. None of these empty streets, there will be chod round every corner and up and down every block, the way it was in the 80s!

Yeah I heard about that, why do the yanks have to re make everything? Can't they cope with the original?

Probably because Kudos/BBC want to make as much money as posssible! The remake of LOM bombed in the US, I can't imagine they would bother with A2A.Some US stuff is OK, I like the US version of the Office. Some UK things are remakes of US things, like that show about a caretaker with a teenage daughter living with a posh woman who had a younger son. It had one of the McGanns and Honor Blackman in it in the UK one, was made in the 1990s, and was based on a Tony Danza thing from the 1980s. Can't have been that good, as I can't remember the name of either!

The Upper hand it was called, Think it was the UK remake of "Who's the Boss?"The daughter was also in Ali G Movie and a few other things since.

The writers/producers must be feeling smug though, that the last episode came out last Friday and not this Friday.

Please tell me is it true that Gene Hunt is the new presenter? :P

Just read through 5 pages of stuff related to the last episode of A2A on a website supposedly interested in crap old cars and found no reference to the Mk2 Cav! Obviously not my favourite shape but it kept me entertained, except for the 3 following points:1. It sounded more like a Morris Minor when started up (poor dubbing choice there)2. If Alex drove it to the scarecrow/dead Gene Hunt location, then how did it get back to London for inclusion in the airport runway showdown at the end?3. Why could I not just enjoy it being on screen on the runway, rather than noticing the post-2000 Transit pickup parked broadside at the right of the screen on the wide shot? :(

why? What's happening this friday?

It's what happened inbetween - Lost's final episode. I don't watch Lost, never really been interested, but I think it would have been a real anti-climax after A2A.

Tell me about it, my pinto turned into a DI overnight once!Didn't Keats drive it back, with Alex in the back and Gene in the passenger seat drinking from a hip flask? It was a gentian blue Mk4 actually, (91-94), no rear pillar vents.....

Funny how your mind plays tricks, I could've sworn it was a white one and thought it might even have been a double cab! Hence why I thought it was a post 2000 (Mk6?) one.

Unless there was two, I defo saw a blue one, LWB or SWB with a medium roof.

That's a good point, I thought you meant "how did the Cav get back?". Um, it's a world of Gene's making (not in her head any more, she's dead) so he can have the quattro suddenly appear where he wants it? Or, like you said A framed it

Found this in an old copy of the local rag last night:

I wonder if they mean an audi quattro replica or a replice of gene's car? Nice find there!

Yes, I made contact with the owner, she runs an A2A forum. She has permission from Kudos to use the JLY number plate on her Quattro. BTW, on the A frame issue, apparently it was the Quattro Keats drove  and the Cav was left behind. Maybe ghostie Gene is smoking about in it?
