Pretty rare. Worth what someone's willing to pay for it I suppose - if you really wanted one, panelling in the windows on a 3 door hatch is probably the simplest route

I’m going to say £4K to someone putting a big engine in it, looking fairly stock.

Export to the US would probably give the highest price. There's a few over there who pay fortunes for rare vws... Whether they're rare by design or because nobody wanted them is up to them.

What about Ireland, they were mad for a low rent commercial conversion over there.

Vehicle tax might make it not viable depending where it sits in their mostly madly expensive system

I ran one for a year back in 2003/4 and did a very light renovation of this one in 2014, then sold it on.

Almost invariably 1.6Ds, though
