Aye don't be taking over our thread ! Only joking !Very nice interior, i for some reason think it would look better with the wood from Warrens, with the inlay "ROVER" Otherwise perfect !What do you think ?

Lol, sorry!

I like the wood a little more subtle without the 'Rover' inley.

I changed the door cards on the Grey Sterling a few months back. Bieng from a later car it has the same wood as Warrens:

The old door cards had darker wood without the Logo/lines which I prefer

That must be ace over long distances. Totally relaxing.I hope I can get mine up to a similar standard.

Lord Sterling

Adjustable rear seats-nice.

Being a big Rover fan for as long as I can remember I have always wanted a Rover 800 since the mk1 first came out, I've driven a few 825 Sterlings/827 Vitesses and later 2.0 Turbos and I just love them. Warren-great car and Lord Sterling-I love yours big time. 8)

Mmmm, I'd love a go in a late 800!I find my wedge 400 comfortable and relaxing to drive so imagine these to be atleast 4 times better.

I do like the 800 Series, My friends dad used to have one, He had a Senator 24v up to 1993 as a company car then it got replaced for a K plate Sterling, He used to pick me and my mate up from Karate every Saturday in it and i love the way it just glided about, He wasn't a slow driver neither. It was grey with full grey leather interior and use to smell lovely. 8) I did get to drive a Spanish LHD 820 Turbo once across Colchester for some bodywork but that put me of them a bit and it was very course and rough to drive though i think it was more to do with the car being a bag of shit.My dad's boss also sold his SD1 for a K reg 827 SLi new, by the time it was was 7 years old it looked like it's had done 20 laps around the circuit and you could hear the tappits 1/2 mile away!

Did abit of work on Warrens 800 today, just a simple brake discs and pad change. But nothing is ever that simple ! Every nut was megga tight, but abit of brute force and i won !Ooh and we had to move the car from an unused piece of land, as someone complained, did i mention a jaguar crashing ?After i did all that Mr Wazza forgot that the Rovers battery was foobared, and it would not start. So we "borrowed" another from a local car ... which was also dead. But we found jumpleads and used the A4 to jump it.I have like 3 pictures, so i will try upload them soon :)Ooh and Warren has a fettish for stabbing prozzies

sterling work that, bit of a sucker for the ol' 800's

Glad its been sorted. I thought you might have had to unseize a few nuts, seems to be the way with Rovers. Mine has the seaized caliper syndrome, hence no handbrake.

Posted

Warrens seems to have no handbrake at the moment, but it does seem to "bite" ever so faintly when fully upFingers crossed it just needs propperly adjusting

Same as mine exactly. Well, it did bite but now its doesnt do anything at all. I'm hoping its just seized calipers.

The pistons in all calipers moved back easily, and the caliper body seemed to move okay too, so i don't think they have seized (Fingers crossed)

According to Peugeot the colour is officially know as "Spernk Blanc" so the jizz in the back light may be the complimentary touch up paint.Seriously though, there seems to be an awful lot of road noise coming through into the cabin. It almost sounds like a wheelbearing faliure on certain road surfaces. Any ideas why???

Posted

I shall have to investigate this noise sir .Maybe it is that prozzy in the boot ? I will txt you sometime this week (Might be friday)As i am SUPER busy - Have apprenticeship interviews tomorrowSo txt you when i am freeeee

Re the Rover handbrake...most rear calipers have a nut you can remove that conceals an allen headed adjuster, nip the adjuster up until it touches the disc then back off a smidgen= working handbrake...if that doesnt work the feck knows

I must say it looks better in the photos than in real life! It's a shame that it's not as fast, economical, sexy, chuckable, prestigious, classy and attractive to beautiful women as my Peugeot 205 that I'm selling for only £175.

I was just thinking how similar the two toned colours on the Merc are , to the Rover.

(If that makes any sence)

P.s

Plug your Pug in the New Brighton thread

All my barges tend to be blue. Coincidence!

Where are the chrome arches, faux AMG alloys and Northern Irish plates?

Looks really neat! I still fancy a W124 300D or 250D manual.
