Greek Chod Spotting

Loving seeing this early 80s Civic, not the first one I've spotted either!

Citroens are part of the decorations for the restaurant in the background.

Also Xantia in it's natural state.

Loved seeing this banged up 106 Rallye. This isn't even the first one I've seen in this state. Just a regular daily beater here.

Another great looking E30 in 2-door flavor.

Another highlight for me, Lancia Delta Coupe in a great spec. Also one of the good looking Carismas before they became bland beigeboxes.

A Peugeot 607 is made of tough stuff; even the rear light lenses!

This is the one that backed into our Suzuki in Germany a few weeks ago...

Last time I was in Greece the place was littered with VW Brasilias...

Fingers crossed some survive.

Though that E30 was probably brand new then.

Great shots @Schaefft !!  Is that Honda saloon basically a Triumph Acclaim?

Pretty much. I actually haven't look at the back to see whether they sold them as Civic or Ballade here.

I didn't see too many cars this old when I was in Rhodes in April, the best find was a 1970s VW Beetle.

One observation was the road maintenance vehicles & airport ground equipment were still using the style of number plate last issued for cars in the early 1970s.

I’m out here now, mainland and the chod is epic.

I’ve seen a Fiat Brava, 3 tipo’s, loads of cinq’s. Peugeot 106, etc.

there are three Alfas on the high street, two 155’s and a GTV, none of them look they’re enthusiast owned!

I’ll have to take the phone with me tomorrow for photos!

Great pics, where in Greece is it?

Central Athens, we are staying about 10mins south west of the acropolis. More uploads later, some more pretty amazing spots today.

The parade of chod spots continued today. Here we go.

First up, a very well specced Vectra B Caravan. I wasn't even aware red leather was an option.

The Lancia Musa (the fancy version of the utterly obscure Fiat Idea) was another great spot that would normally be very hard to come by.

Loved the site of the W210, Corolla and Audi in one row. All of these are still in daily use, proving that they are still capable dailys. They weren't much less common here in the UK at some point but naturally got crushed long before their time.

This next spot was one of the highlights of today. Couldn't believe that there's still a place on this planet where you can find a BMW 2002 in this battered shape, casually parked in a side street.

Another absolutely glorious spot. This Nissan Cherry still had the Datsun lettering on it. The elderly owner just got out of it a minute earlier from his grocery run.
