A while ago I put an advert in the classics section on ebay, wanting a project up to £150, prefer British but anything considered. I had loads of offers and ended up with a 39k from new, one previous owner Austin 1300 countryman. He even delivered it. Freecycle is always worth putting a wanted advert on, or your local rag. The stuff that goes to the local fragging yard here would make you cry and it's only because the owners dont know what to do with it or want the hassle of selling it.

Hi,I am seriously considering selling my 1966 Austin 1100.It is good mechanically (recently had the gearbox rebuilt), although I am going to get the offside suspension pumped up next week as it went down the other evening, not sure if it is leaking! The body is a little tatty, will probably need one new wing and the interior needs a good clean.I cannot devote time and money to this and my Maxi and the Maxi is my preferred car so I am either going to sell this or put it in dry storage for a year. There are some pictures on the Maxi/1100 thread a page or two back.Peter.

Something different? You'd need to be handy with a welder. And an angle-grinder. And be able to weld bacofoil...

Nope. Chassis, floors, sills, rear seat box and lower bulkhead all deliciously rotten! I may save it myself yet. Other projects depending...

Would swap it for an Austin Princess (2.0 or 2.2) or a Renault 14!!!Otherwise, will probably fancy a change next year.Pete.

I know of a tax-exempt FWD Triumph 1300. Needs a little welding underneath, nothing major, and some cylinder head work apparently. Even a complete running engine can be had for £50, if necessary. Thing is, it's relatively low mileage (under 60k, I think - perhaps 40-odd) and on top is pretty much mint, if needing a clean.

Might sell my XR3i, not sure yet but with the cabriolet coming along I have too many cars again so will have to make a decision!

I still need rid of my '85 Nissan Sunny. Not much of a project as such as it's fairly tidy though will need a few bits on the body sorting before long.

Main issue is the cooked head. If your handy with the spanners and can get another motor it'll make a nice daily. Dead simple and very pleasant to drive. I'm only yon side of Yorkshire to you too

Thats a really nice Sunny Mash, shame its had problems with the dreaded HGF. On the subject of projects, I would kill for one but alas, no garage, no means of even getting a 'project' to there if I even had one, and my college would never offer me space. Plan is, learn to drive over summer and buy something by the end of this year.
