What the hell would you want to look at my ugly mug for?I sold a split screen Traveller -rare even then, in a totally kosher sale. Buyer was as tranger to me, we did the deal ( off camera) then staged it after. He was the 2nd buyer-first one chanced his arm with a silly bid -just to get on telly. Didnt work-thankfully.Theyalso did some filming on a race Guiletta I was selling -but got fed up at the 3rd chancer- & switched cars.Whats wrong with Trabbie owners? I used to import loads of them in the early 90's-still have a few (Tramp,P50, 2 P60's...)Once you get past the comedy - they're actually quite good cars. Reasonable spritely (-to 65),economical, & fun. I got knicked in Bruggen for outdragginga Beemer. Happy days...Engine swops on the pavement -20minutes. (OK-I did it loads bringing them back-got it down to a fine art! Many's a story I could tell there....Recommend you try a good one -if you can get past ''the looks''

The only way you'll get me into a Trabant is if they make a hearse and my family decide to take the piss.

LOL@ Larkin going straight for the jugular with a low offer. Almost worth sitting through the two ads about gum disease in dogs.

Whats wrong with Trabbie owners?

Absolutely nuttin' - they're just like any other car fanatic. Trabbys are great - I'd love one (I'd probably have to modify it a bit) it would be such a laugh to hoon around town in one. They look so distinct - it would have to be a beige one for the full blown Eastern bloc effect. There was a Trabby sitting unused for over a year in the car park of my old flat here in Glasgow - I never once saw anyone near it though It must have been owned by a resident as all the spaces were allocated. I have a photo of the Trabby and my old GSA together somewhere.Mr. Bickle - I just recalled that you have a Barkas! - I'd love one of those to make into a micro camper! I am most envious...

Oh, and his article on all the different Morris Minor shapes, basing it round a fictional town was just embarrasing!

God I remember that, it was awful!

Bought it [the magazine] today and was pleasantly surprised to see 2 of my photos printed. Made my day and took my mind off the big dentists drill as she made a hole in my tooth somewhat larger before filling it with Daves Isopon....

Watched the Larkin one, I used to know the woman selling the Farina!

Who did she end up selling it to? Do you know if Larkin was dragged in by the tv people?
One shall attempt discreet enquiries - it's over 10 years since I last spoke to her...

Whenever i switch it on the box and see the deals on wheels repeats its always the one with the old boy racing driver Rivers Fletcher selling his pre war Alvis - the thing is he passed away only a year or so after the programme was made.......its as if he criogenically preserved on digital celuliode for time immortal!!!!!
