I like the comments.

Hate most towns in uk - so i moved abroad

Ive visited most of the towns or cities listed and with the odd exception they all suffer from one common problem.....SOCIALISM !!!!

I think i'd have to disagree with ELY, ST.DAVID'S AND WELLS being on the list, i have had a great time in all three locations.

The "City of Wells" (to give it its full title) is great! Beautiful cathedral (although HUGE, compared to the population of the "city") lovely shopping and fantastic scenery all around. I used to live in Keynsham, which is just up the road and I don't care if it's not one of the most visited place on the planet-a better kept secret for those of us who know it!

To be fair, Wakefield city is alright (if you like that sort of thing) and only really suffers from being a bit dull and charmless. It's fairly safe providing you don't go in the middle of a council estate wearing a bow-tie and Rupert the Bear trousers. If you include the east of the district, however, it's a different story - Pontefract, Castleford and all their associated little grief holes. Those are alright if you like seeing miserable lumpy-faced ex-miners whinging about Thatcher, otherwise your only option is to lie face down on the floor and smash your fist against the concrete whilst weeping openly and demanding an apology from God. I often do this on my lunch break at work, though sometimes I pop to the market and get a bag of fizzy cola bottles.

Yeh, Wells Cathedral is lovely.....nice part of the country too, near Cheddar Gorge/Wookey Hole etc. Surprised it's on the list. I can't see believe more people visit Crewe for instance! (out of choice anyway)

City of Wells was named after a steam loco and Keynsham after a Bonzos album

Ely's actually a lovely little place - its presence on the list is probably due to it being a bit of a PITA to get to.

Three of the most beautiful cathedral cities in England on the ten least visited? Presume this is targeted at fifteen year olds.

I live not too far from Wells , it is a stunning place , just up from Wookey hole is a tiny village called Priddy , huge centre green with a pub next to it , just bliss

I too can vouch for Ely & Wells being very picturesque & unspoilt little places, probably why they feature on the list because cities don't tend to be that way. Not the main ones anyway.Don't think I know St Davids though :?

Sunderland is alright if you know your way about and dont come from north of the River................Dumpdee is a Fucking Hole...........end off

Nah, mackemland is worse. Full of Mackems for starters!

They were certainly correct about Bradford though.

I vote for Dundee, but lets face it, Cumnock and Doon has some of the shittiest villages going!Oh, and not forgetting Kirkconnel and Sanquhar

I agree about the socialist thing. Nothing works in the country, nobody can be arsed. I think it suits well mouthing off, but nothing ever gets done, and when it does, it's in a half-arsed fashion, thanks to outsourcing to contractors who are only answerable to their half-arsed boss when they continually fuck up repairing roads. I'm not sure how this place can get anymore - not worse, just uncomfortable to live in. It's like someone's using this country as a test pad for something.
