Just a warning to those who don’t waste money.
 

Just been to The Range and bought some Iceland “Party Foods” and chicken at Dockside. 
This is the second time I’ve had to object to the price charged. 
£18.00 in food but charged £20.50
Staff not happy with me objecting and having to change prices on the till. 
The person who did it said to me they work for The Range and not Iceland. 

So I don’t care who works for who. 

Just be aware that their systems are charging you too much. 

If you just automatically swipe a card and leave without checking, you could be charged more than you should. 

I hope this is helpful until the owners correct their system and pricing.

Yesterday I was chatting with a very frustrated friend. Her mum unfortunately is a ways down the dementia road, also a cancer survivor. To the extent of them now having to make her world safe around her. Julie is 68, so you get the idea. 
She was looking for a way to get the medication safe in the house as her dad cannot control everything that happens. 
 

She was online looking for lockable boxes or cabinets. So I told her I had quite a few boxes in the garage. From tool lockers to key cabinets. 
 

After deciding on one, I went and cleaned, sanded and painted it for her. Added a really cheap Chinese lock (just to keep mum out) and some trim stripping and pink vinyl. 
 

Saturday morning I am heading to Colchester, Essex to meet up with PaulY to deliver his box of steel and brass I collected last week, and then meeting Julie for some lunch and a chat with her black box. 
 

Painting in the garage with a temperature of 5’C and rain outside, my bargain Dewalt  heat gun (remember that bargain buy?) was perfect for warming the box up after sanding the surface to key it well, and wiping it clean. 
 

So between coats I gently applied more dry heat. 
 

Result is very satisfying. 
 

But I need to do more careful and DIY stuff,,without the weather getting in the way. 
 

Weekend soon.

Masking tape to keep them in place for 24 hours till hardened. 
Then remove the tape, take a few pics.

I think the 'Blues Brothers' pastiche would get 'old' very quickly together with attracting the wrong sort of attention , also I don't think you can/could legally run it with the roof lights (see -  wrong sort of attention  🙂) which would partly/probably defeat the object ...

 I really do like the "low 'n slow" apart from the white walls but that's just me 😇 for me , and me alone, this is the way forward sans white walls 😁

After all of this time I have decided to investigate using 5x114.3mm  (5x4.5”) wheels on the Oldsmobile 88 which has a standard fitment of 5x115mm 6J wheels shod with 205/70R15 steel wheels with a 47mm offset   Using a 12x1.5 wheel stud with lug nuts on a 70.3mm Center Bore. 
 

Now the majority of 5x114.3 pattern wheels will not have this Centre bore. 
I have been told £120.00 to machine the CB to make them fit. 

Being as this has to be a cheap build, the wheels need to be cheap and in an ideal world,,with some tyres in 16” or 17” alloys. 
 

If I proceed on the Lowrider inspired paint themes that I have visualised Gold or Bronze may be the colour choice to make. 
 

THIS IS NOT A LOWRIDER. 

 

So I have seen some Lexus wheel designs that could work for me. Creating a large Gold palette. 
 

It should contrast well with the blues in my mind.

Unfortunately Google Ai just grabs whatever random info it likes out there. But it's possible these 17 inch chevy captiva / vauxhall antara wheels might bolt on. Please do more checking yourself but there's a chance they are same bore, studs and PCD as the 88. 

Can't see any cheap full sets mostly breaker selling them singular, however the captiva (know as a craptiva) is a steaming pile of shite so I'd think the market for salvage is low, maybe some room to haggle prices.

I had a different design of Captiva wheels saved, which I literally unsaved earlier.

Ah, but we met at the RR weekend many years ago - I had a Citroen Ax with a VTS engine, but I'm afraid I drunk too much with the A52 group on Saturday night so was rather green around the gills come the Sunday.  I think you attended in the red truck and teardrop trailer?

I like them because they’re so wrong. 
 

Yet, in garish gold on a 90’s car which would end up in blues they change somewhat. 
 

I have to wait till tomorrow 11.30 before I get a go again at adding the gold three spokes to the car pictured below. 
 

I am not building a Lowrider but imagine this sort of paint and the gold three spokes above from a Mk1 Freelander. 
 

The three spokes are almost too little, whereas a solid 5 spoke in gold works better.
