2CV racing with car #48 - the 2022 round-the-clock silliness in Norfolk...

Oh dear car 16. Just pulled up with smoke coming from bonnet. The driver leapt out and opened the lid to find flames had taken up residence. :(

Rapidity of the fire marshals in direct proportion to the difference in velocity of 2CVs and formula 1 cars.

lap time hasn't changed for a while

*edit* cos its "best time" in a smoll font 🙄

I'll take that, lads - well done!

1:31, then 1:24... these boys is good.

how ironic a corgi 2cv i'm bidding on finishes 1 minute after the 2cv race!!!

Final stints now.

George has handed over to Glen; Laurence will then take over for the last hour to the flag, during which the rules do not allow recovery.  Also, he owns the car, built it and knows it better than any of us!

How many sets of tyres do you get through? and will the winners get success ballast for next event?

Posted

Unless there's damage - we had to replace the nearside front after contact from a Mini overnight - we usually finish on the same rubber we started on.

There is no success ballast, and Pete Sparrow (the winningest 2CVer IN EVER) is built like a racing ferret.

some clerk of the course shenanigens I'm reading.

edit, my mechanic just called me. Stewards seemed to be well within grounds for DQing DD racing.

I was trying to grab your workshop pic but can’t get it to save as a jpg. Just calls it a html page

I was right there.  The DQ, fine and points were well-deserved.  The driver made the "poor decisions", not the CotC as some appear to be claiming.

It cost a team member the championship, so this controversy is likely to run for a while yet.

Any reason you’ve gone for square headlamps?

Laurence (car owner) prefers them.  Simple as that.  Also, we're the only ones that do!

Saw that one. Not sure Talbot improves with time.
