Hi all. I’ve been looking though some photo albums my Dad was recently given and some of the images feature some nice looking old cars. Apart from the Austin badged one I’ve no idea what any of them are though. Do any vintage shite enthusiasts on the forum have a clue?

The photos look like they range from the 1930s up to the late 50s but I’m not totally sure on the exact dates, unfortunately none of the photos have any captions with them giving any information.

Wonderful photos!  I think the second photo could be a Standard Flying 9 from around 1937 and the fourth photo is a BSA front wheel drive vehicle, again from a similar period.  The others do not easily come to mind.

Thanks! My Dad just mentioned the BSA, I thought that would be the hardest to get but obviously not! Apparently it was a pickup and used to deliver milk churns.

Here’s  another one.

I think that's a Standard Flying 12 (or 14), about 1938.

E4031 (several views) is a Rover 8hp from the early 1920s.

Austin obviously, probably a 10 from the early-mid 1930s

I think this must be a BSA TW9 because FWD, but I've never seen a saloon version like that before. Will ask my BSA expert friend.

Another Standard, probably a V3 given the size, of the late 1920s

Great, looks like you really know your shite of yesteryear!

AFAIK the BSA was a pickup rather than a saloon, I don’t know if it was a production model or modified.

Hi all.  After another look at the albums I’ve spied a couple of odd looking vehicles in the background. The woodie shooting brake looks especially cool, although looking again they might be two different vehicles.

There’s  a bonus motorbike and sidecar snap that those in here might be interested in.

I think the one in the first picture is EB 8482 from the first pic in the first post (with another funny woodie conversion behind it - wonder if it's the BSA?), and I reckon the second pic is the same car but with a new paint job, and new skimpy front wings.

Thanks for the replies Barrett. My Dad found them fascinating and wants me to print out the comments so they can be included in the album. I didn't consider the Humber being a shooting brake,  for some reason I just assumed it was a big saloon. You can't see the rear of it, so it could be anything of course.

The other woodie deffo isnt the BSA as that was a pick up/ flatbed for delivering milk churns. There are other images of it around in family albums but so far I've yet to find any.
