LOL @ "dog unit". Imagine bowling about with a massive alsatian in the back of that, chasing off intruders. Much more classy than the usual ex-plod van with £9-worth of vinyl lettering.

I removed the rear seats and threw them away in order to start the project, that is as far as i got this is all i done to the car

Good effort!!!

Nice spot. Why the hell do people say such stupid stuff? Why not lie and say something that makes sense or at least doesn't sound so stupid?

Here's a list of things which are better excuses

This is the Allegerita model which comes without rear seats and is ultra light

A dog ate my rear seat

The car didn't have a rear seat when I got it and because I only have one eye (see his username) I didn't notice it till I got home

Some travellers stole my seat for scrap

My religion doesn't believe in rear seats for cars

I lost the rear seat in a high stakes bingo game

anything other than "I'm a dipshit and threw my rear seat out for no reason"

What engine does the A series van have normally? I thought it would be a York motor.

Not on the Mk1 version, they would have had some perkins of some flavour. The A series is more of a truck than a van, despite having more transit panels than anything (doors, roof, scuttle). I just can't get my head around a car or engine being called an A series!

Look at this 2-door Nova saloon! LOVELY.

Monsieur B, with these unmolested Novas, you’re really spoiling us. Well spoiling me at least anyway. Extra points for finding one still sporting the correct period radiator grille 8)

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1990-AUDI-80-37-000-miles_W0QQitemZ170454746552only 37k on this old 80!!! if you gave it the doctor treatment and took the springs out i bet you'd get loads of RESPEK for having found 'the next big thing' in VAG circles.

My I do hate Audi 80's
I can understand your feelings about 80s, my friend had one, a B3 like the one Bo11 posted, and although it was nice enough there was something pretty miserable about it - I think it was the seats made from washboards and negative headroom.

Talking of dumb things to do, in australia it's quite common for people to cut their springs to lower their car which tbh is pretty stupid but to top it off I know some people who cut them whilst they were ON the car.

Haven't you been on the Retro Rides forum?

However though it passed MOT with one small item of welding last year, it is now clear extensive work will be needed to get it through ie being rear wheelarches, both outer sills, front floor pan areas, rear top shock absorber mounts. This is just just to name the main things and there could be more - for example I think it will need one rear leaf spring mount doing and possibly some attention to inner sills too.

URGH! Sounds like a right old project that lot. Theres something about these as well that puts me off, I can never quite put my finger on it though. they almost have an apologetic air about them for their own half arsed pedestrian-ness. I sort of still would like one though to see if it lives down to my expectations.[/url]

I would be more impressed if these morons painted a Regal van powder blue and advertised it as OMG_MR_BEANS_ENEMY_CAR_3_WHEELS_RARE

^^^ That shape one is the same type as the one Mr Bickle's been asked to shift.

This looks interesting, very early one of these. 147bhp, 4 years before the 2.0 vauxhall XE came out and set the supposed 'benchmark' 150bhp level for 2.0 NA engines. 'PD' plates often appeared on 80's toyota road test cars if I remember right, so might be an ex Toyota UK vehicle?. Seller sounds like a bit of a clueless gimp though.

GOOD CAR

Had a few years as an extra Classic Car. Lost Keys about six months ago, and just had no urgency to do anything about it!

The Car has done ONLY 150 miles in the Last Year. Eventually , I got a mobile locksmith to get it sorted, with some Keys, and it started straight away with a jump start. Then a few days later, in the dark, I did a very silly thing, jump starting it again to move it this time, but I got the leads the wrong way round, and now it won't do a thing! A friend said I would have damaged the alternator. Was about to sell it anyway

These are always totally rotten, yet this one looks pretty decent and the ad is pretty half-arsed so it could be cheap. Get on it someone!

what about this then? Slightly barry, but a 2.5 V6 ST200 engine is an unusual trasplant into an escort (Van). Super cool I reckon

£1500 BIN

Wtf's with the whole stretched tyres thing? I think some cars can benefit from wider rims to make the tyres look less baggy.... but this? Just makes no sense to me.

A guy I know from another forum did show me a few threads on there :D I don't think I've got space in my life for another forum. Unless I give up pissing off Fiat 500 owners who are overly precious about their lump of metal, plastic, glass and rubber :D Makes me want to vomit when they give their car names like Luigi, Mario and bluebelle

That ST24 Van has been on and off my watch list for months, I'll wager it is ferociously quick, but the cost of keeping it in dino-juice puts me off. Then again I don't get good MPG's out of my shitty van on the motorway, and a big V6 in a small van maybe uses less fuel if you can be sensible enough* to keep it at 70-odd..(*I'm not)
