They were a series of children's books in the 1980's about the Little Red Metro (A reg) and his adventures with the Capris, Volvos, the snooty Metro Vanden Plas and the brown Maxi that was all upset because the dealership couldn't sell him despite making him "Car of the Week" and offering a free balloon to anyone who bought it Highly recommended if you see the set on Ebay, chock full of shite.
