The Ford Popular 100E. My Dad had one of these (in grey) bought  as an ex demo car in 1962. It had a heater fitted which was an extra! Even had that same AA badge.

I had a 105e Anglia & the heater it had would've been optional.

I wonder how many folk were actually so fucking tight they didn't order a heater ?

The 1966 Austin A40 I had in Cyprus had no heater.  Most of the time it wouldn't have mattered out there, but over here it would definitely have been an issue!  Heaters were optional on older designs well up through the 60s and IIRC even into the 70s.  On a related tack, can you imagine a work van with no radio?  I don't have to, I drove them!  The youngest was a VW pickup T25, that I remember new in early 1986.  C279 KCK, if you ever see it about...

My '08 Piaggio Porter had no radio fitted from factory, nor an aerial!

You’ve probably hit the nail on the head there with Cyprus.

After the war there was a massive export drive and more cars were exported than were sold at home. The main market was probably Commonwealth  ( Empire?) countries since they nearly all drove on the left. As most of these are considerably warmer than then U.K. they probably didn’t need heaters.
