Or are old Fords just more desirable than some other brands?

Asking as that looks a bit of a wreck and the price seems high compared to the other 1970s stuff.

They don't do banger racing here. And old Fords are not more desirable than other brands and I think this one was overpriced but shared it since it was rare.

Volvo 240 and other Volvos and various US cars probably among the most sought after classics here.

That Granada would be considered cheap in the UK, in fact you’d probably sell it ten times over at that price here, but Fords have a high nostalgia tax on them, probably higher than anywhere else. I think only the Republic of Ireland shares our obsession.  

Our equivalent of that black Taunus 12m, a Cortina Mk1 2dr in the same condition, would be easily three, maybe even four times as much over here.

It's not just scene tax on the Volvo 240 here it is difficult to describe but they have a very special place here and I asume in the rest of Scandinavia as well.

So they deserve to be worth as much as they are now and this is also important to ensure their future survival as they have long been popular first cars and among fuckwits something that has killed them in large numbers.

Prices are high in Sweden too.

I beg to differ regarding Granadas though, almost all good ones up for sale in Sweden seems to be sold to Norway, its been like this for about 20 years now. Some go to Holland and Germany, but the vast majority is sold to  our western neighbour. 

Fords were never as highly regarded here, where you’d either have a Volvo or a Saab. Or, if you were a go-getter a Mercedes or BMW.  Folds were cheap but well equipped cars just for people who didn’t care about cars.

I think heavy taxation on cars in Norway made Fords more desirable, hence more nostalgic love and affection nowadays.

Checked and it was sold new here, probably one of the last Vauxhalls sold in Norway.

I have no idea how he got this one through the MOT last year. And all this must be approved by the authorities where TUV papers and more must be shown.
