Norwegian tat (cars for sale in Norway)

Really interesting thread, thanks. I currently buy classic cars in the UK and export them to Mexico and I have a friend who was telling me how I should start looking in Norway too. The G Wagons look very interesting despite the rust. What's it like buying cars over there? Are people generally OK with receiving money via bank transfer and waiting for a trailer to arrive and collect it? When I buy in the UK I normally do a live video call with the seller to prove they actually have the car and the V5 in their name etc which helps weed out scammers, not sure if Norwegians would take kindly to that or not. Any information would be appreciated, thanks!

I can't help much unfortunately. But I think that if you are going to often buy cars from here, it would probably be best to find someone here who can help, but I don't know how to find someone.

And we do the change of ownership of cars electronically here with bank details that only Norwegian residents have. For foreigners, I think you have to go back to the old way with papers and show up at a government office. But I could be wrong.

Thanks, that's really useful information, sounds like it's quite a complex process which I guess is why a lot of people who do what I do prefer to buy in the UK. I'll see if I can make a Norwegian friend at some point!
