Hi all,I just stubled across this forum whilst looking for infomation on my 1980 honda Acty truck.Honda Acty's are quite rare now and my friend was telling me you can contact the DVLA and they can tell you how many are still on the road (taxed or sorn)Is this correct? If so how would I go about it?My Acty is a mk1 and I cant remember seeing one for at least 10 years and it would be nice to get some info on these little trucks/vans.Also does anyone know of any in scrap yards or being broken?I'm after a couple of small parts.Any info/advise would be greatfully apreciated. Many thanksMarc :D

Welcome mate. I think that the thing about the DVLA being able to tell you how many of a vehicle is on the road might be a bit of a myth. Have you seen the thread on MOT figures? That might be more of an indication.

There's been at least 3-4 on eBay in the last year.Wasn't there a ropey one at the Bubblecar Museum in Cranwell?

Here you go, there's a link in the thread to a spreadsheet that lists the pass/failures of a lot of vehicles, the acty might be on of them. It's a good indication of how many are left, though obviously only the ones that are MOT'd, it won't tell you how many are SORN'd or off the road since before the SORN.

There was at least one early type. That second one actually is the one at the Bubblecar Museum!

Rested next to The Caldon Canal at Consall for quite a while. Not there now I'm afraid.

If I recall, you can get the data from the SMMT but it costs a fortune to subscribe to.Have you got a photo of your own Acty?

There's an Acty van in the background in a scene of Bugs:

I also remember J Davidsons Scrap Metal in Altrincham having one, it was mint and parked outside his house (long story - I was in the same year as his son, and I ended up cleaning his wheelie bin as a summer job at Uni).

The stacked headlight version is the TN5 and TN7 which aren't pictured above. The Acty line started out with the T360 and then the first proper cabover design, the TN360 which came out in '67. here's the line...

1967 TN360

1970 TN3

1972 TN5

1975 TN7

1977 TN Acty

Acty ..not certain when this one came out...maybe 1980?

Acty.. again not certain but might have been about '84.

They then got facelifted to look more modern aith rectangular headlights etc. I've got one from about 1987 but it's mega rotten unfortunately so it's never going to see the road again....

One of my recent spots....

I love the way the RR dwarves the Acty. The rear of the vehicles were about level.

I'd love to know what these are like to drive- bouncy yet fun maybe?
