And has walked away from it. Whilst it will irritate you that you didn't shift it, well done on standing your ground and making sure they wasted their journey. warninglight Posted Thursday at 16:42 Posted Thursday at 16:42 Fuckwits! We've had the higher post 2006 tax bands for nearly 20 years now. It's not a surprise. A similar age Discovery is now worth about 2 years' tax, hence nobody wants them. St.Jude and lesapandre 1 1

St.Jude Posted Thursday at 16:47 Author Posted Thursday at 16:47 I think he was basing it on the tax his mate pays, but his mate is driving a fucking 2 year old Land Cruiser. Not a 20 year old one. Still, it's been up on eBay and AutoTrader since Saturday and there has been interest, although this sort of interest. And it's still far more than last time. So it's looking positive. Especially positive for the wife who knows the time a potential Berlingo pops up on to the drive is now further away. privatewire, lesapandre and N Dentressangle 3
warninglight Posted Thursday at 16:50 Posted Thursday at 16:50 Perhaps this is what you need to replace the Land Cruiser. But the tax on a 2 year old Land cruiser would be quite a lot, because it would have cost over £40k new.Though possibly the last ones were sold as commercial vehicles to get round some regulations or something. lesapandre 1

His mate reckoned it was about £340 a year for him. May not have been a 2 year old one. It was definitely much newer than mine though. So probably a 150. lesapandre 1

St.Jude Posted Friday at 12:41 Author Posted Friday at 12:41 So the 2 have come up from London again. Two Romanian lads. Took one of them in for a test drive (he had insurance, drivers license, no bother). He went through everything on it. He's picked up brakes (which he's right about). His mate followed behind, and said he saw black smoke from the back. Well I fucked him out of that, I told him there isn't smoke. If there is it's when his friend was heavy with the accelerator and up the hill and i said that's standard on an old diesel being booted. Injectors were mentioned and I said they were reconditioned from a company every Land Cruiser owner uses, had the receipt. Explained that when I went to Toyota to get the list of parts I went to get the injectors but they were only selling reconditioned ones themselves anyway so did what I did. The one lad, whether he's good at acting or what, looks torn about it. They've gone off for a coffee to think about it. comfortablynumb, lesapandre and privatewire 3

Although I know towards the end they were fucking around at the front of it and the alarm went off on the Land Cruiser (which shocked them as I don't think they realised I locked it - forgot myself). It's been a long coffee break for them anyway, they've not come back. Bren Posted yesterday at 12:12 Posted yesterday at 12:12 To get a no nonsense private sale these days you have to practically give the car away. People these days are mostly potless - they have very little to spend - they expect even a cheap car to last years. St.Jude 1

Don't think people are particularly short of money. Thanks to the internet, they're all car "experts".I genuinely feel sorry for people both buying and selling at that sort of price point.Buyers have got unfeasibly high expectations, sellers are probably trying to get rid before the next big bill. St.Jude Posted 20 hours ago Author Posted 20 hours ago I’m the same, you’ve made your mind up when you see the car. Obviously if it clatters and smokes or whatever then it changes it but generally it doesn’t take a committee meeting to decide to buy it. He called me when I was out about it and gave him more feedback about the air con. So we will see.
