I live in Shadwell, Leeds. Thats from Naked Video isn't it? I always say 'Shaaadweel' when people say where do you live and they generally look at me like i am mad. Thought i was the only one who remembered that.Can have it at mine. I can fit about 2.5 cars in the garage (excluding the 1.5 that are already in there) and 3 on the drive. The back garden can fit 1 at a push and another 3 on the drive. Big road outside though, but if thats not big enough i am only 5 mins from Chapeltown so all the ketamine you can eat to totally distort your depth perception. Jobs a goodun......

Ah, well Mudchute made me think of the DLR and there's also a station at Shadwell... Was around the time of that programme that the DLR was being built and we used to go and ride on it occasionally as my dad was vaguely involved. I remember getting off at possibly Canary Wharf station and walking along the bare dock to see a small exhibition in a tent which included architectural models of the massive buildings they were going to put there. Seemed incredible! The train also used to stop at one point where they hadn't built the station yet but it was programmed into the computer that controlled them.

This would be great - be nice if it could be in a location of interest, but a shite one of course like a former glorious location of the UK motor industry that is now nothing moar than free parking.Or a shite, formerly great seaside place (non of the famous ones though)

As for "Bum Rushing" other meets I guess it could be a slap dap fall back idea, but some people just dont take too kindly to other people "on there turf" So to avoid Autoshite being raped by cnuts saying how crap we are for wrecking there amazingly slammed and blinging ride with our Skips i think its best if we do our own thing._________________

As a long standing AS member I recall on the pre purge forum that some shiters turned up at a rally of some stuffy old gits with old Austins and stuff and rolled out the big Autoshite banner to return later to find it neatly rolled up - there were even photos!I kinda feel the gathering should be a little bit disgraceful too in some way- sorry, my point is that I reckon crashing another event would be a right laff (especially if we are not actually 'trouble' just a bit annoying

Ah yes, that was myself & m'colleague Mr Leyland. We'd been to a wedding the day before in Bakewell in the Peak District so decided to amble along to Chatsworth House that afternoon. Unbeknown to us, there was a Riley OC do on. So yes, we unfurled the big Autoshite banner we had at the time & cleared off for a pint. On returning to the car some stuffy old bastard had taken down the banner. Got some photos somewhere, I'll try to dig them out....

I also slept in the Austin the night nefore (too pissed to get to my hotel room), had my legs dangling out of the driver's window all night. It was not the usual site all the old biddies visiting the Bakewell tearooms expected the next morning.

I agree completely.I was thinking along the lines of seperate from a RR meet, but only by metres - the pub car park round the corner or something. Everyone sneaking drinks of their cheap cider in the back seats.

I would vote for the shiteville that is the Stondon Motor Museum if Bedfordshire is the region of choice

It's a brilliant museum for tat-spotting, always useful if nobody else turns up I'm in the Tatra club which is really small, and we mostly used to organise events on the back of other shows, the Round Table one in Uxbridge was a favourite (get the Autoshite banner out) and we did a few at Shuttleworth.If there's only you and one other bloke that turns up, waiting in an empty field is a depressing thing to do. Having a museum or other old cars to look at is a help as you pace around, looking at your watch I went to Gaydon once and their museum was depressingly small inside, but a trip around their less loved cars sounds a laugh. It's also fairly central - I was only moderately deaf after driving there in the Land Rover

A meet would be a great idea! Personally I'd say what about the RR Gathering at Haynes in August. A fair few shiters will be there anyway and its a pretty good venue. It's a bit south west but not too bad to get to and weather should be decent and theres loads and loads of room for the AS contingent to get lost in. Plus camping, local pub etc. And, quite a lot of people on here use RR as well so it makes sense to me at least...

 

(I am slightly biased as we are having a trade stand at RRG so I'll be there anyway)
