I don't understand - why did he get the arse with you if they were happy with your offer? 
Were they annoyed at your colleague for telling you about it? 
Did they accept your offer to appear polite? 

I've had that a few times - people being nice and welcoming when in fact they were fucking furious but decided not to make a scene and then have it fester for ages instead.

Don’t want to go into it too much, I think maybe I caught them at the wrong time, im done with it all now. 
I’ve put my big boy pants on and ponyed up for a better example that I won on eBay last night and am collecting it tomorrow, a year older but same colour and spec but this one has floors and runs etc, may do a reveal tomorrow
