DodgeRover Posted June 19, 2017 Posted June 19, 2017 Jazoli - banks were useless, especially the one I work for! Sorted out a transfer to a colleague's account though Seeing as you are down here now do yourself a favour and open an account with Metrobank, I'm pretty certain they can give you a new card while you wait in branch. Kiltox Posted June 19, 2017 Posted June 19, 2017 Bollocks to that, I pay my own expenses! £30 vs £150-£200 a night is REALLY hard to justify doobietoo and DeeJay 2
Kiltox Posted June 19, 2017 Posted June 19, 2017 Working air con and shower on the hottest day of the year so far, can't complain too much

DodgeRover Posted June 19, 2017 Posted June 19, 2017 You could buy a camper and join the not so stealth campers on the Caterham bypass every night, pretty sure one of them commutes into the city everyday or it's about 10 mins walk to the station DeeJay and The Moog 2
omegod Posted June 19, 2017 Posted June 19, 2017 Jurys inn Watford is a belter hotel, £59 a night should any scumbag find themselves in the vicinity
Sloth in a bowl Posted June 19, 2017 Posted June 19, 2017 I'm in a shit hotel in Brighton. There is next to no ventilation. My mood is not good, and can probably only be improved by the application of alcohol. At least the room is beige... Wrong thread, you are in Brighton so can go to the beach and have a pint. One of the better towns to be stuck in after working hours. alf892 1

alcyonecorporation Posted June 19, 2017 Posted June 19, 2017 Tried Facebook again because people had noticed I wasn't on it any more. I hadn't. The amount of vitriol and hatred strewn across the news feed sickened me. No one needs that amount of lying in their lives, personal or public. I wish it would disappear. The world would be better off without another po-faced way of delivering their private information to advertisers. Lacquer Peel 1
DodgeRover Posted June 19, 2017 Posted June 19, 2017 I got so fed up with the "news" videos being pasted up by friends I just started commenting this is shit/ lies/ made up by an 8 year old etc alcyonecorporation and Kiltox 2

AlabamaShrimp Posted June 19, 2017 Posted June 19, 2017 Maybe it's just something I don't get*. It's been warm all day but you've been at work, why not come home and at about 9pm go into your garden turn on some utter shite music that all the other poor bastards have to suffer from as our houses are in a triangle and start a barbecue.... Utter fucking wankers. Why is it always shite music? In fact why the music at all there's just no need. Talk to the people you're with why the need for constant noise, like people that turn the TV on then fuck off out the room. hennabm, cobblers, michael1703 and 1 other 4
DodgeRover Posted June 19, 2017 Posted June 19, 2017 Bonfire of old tyres when the wind is in their direction? I actually chucked a bit of oil from an old mower on the bonfire the other day to get it going, no idea what it was contaminated with but it made the most acrid choking stench imaginable. myglaren 1
chaseracer Posted June 19, 2017 Posted June 19, 2017 ...you are in Brighton so can go to the beach and have a pint. The beach is just across the road, which is nice. Two pints of Vier have smoothed the edges more than somewhat. Slartibartfast and Sloth in a bowl 2
Bianconeri Posted June 19, 2017 Posted June 19, 2017 Comes right off your bottom line though regardless of the tax saving - I want to invest the excess left in my company at the end of each year in property and an extra £10-15k a year goes a long way!I was in a slightly different position I think - (own) company funding pension up to the annual limit, no need to pay myself a salary over that amount, etc... to each his own. I was never in a position of having to work more than 11 or 12 days a month to meet all the (self-imposed) outgoings. Depends a lot in your day rate as well of course. Every contractor has his / her own approach and I think that's one if the benefits of trading that way. chaseracer and Kiltox 2
michael1703 Posted June 19, 2017 Posted June 19, 2017 Spent 7 hours working on a rover p5 today, owner was happy, paid cash its 5pm and I'm thinking of fucking off early for once and then.... Customer on my 'to do list' turns up "you haven't fixed my squeaky nearside handbrake yet" as the ramp was now free I told him to drive it on, nearside wheel and caliper off easily, remove the rust from the drum, handbrake adjusted and back together in minutes he then wanted the Offside looked at even though it was OK. 2x10mm bolts 100mm long threaded into aluminium housing ,top one came out, bottom one fealt nasty, I worked it back n forth for ages, oil and heat, I kept warning him it would snap and that it was best to leave it and then... SNAP It's now 7pm and I explain I'm not drilling it out tonight A job I really haven't got time for for at least two weeks Uncle Jimmy 1
twosmoke300 Posted June 19, 2017 Posted June 19, 2017 Trying to place the car ? Radial mounted calipers with the drum in disc set up ? Hmmm
Heidel_Kakao Posted June 19, 2017 Posted June 19, 2017 Bipolar disorder. It's a bit rubbish really, I have never felt the need to mention that I suffer from it on the forum but the other day at Shitefest it basically made me go home a day early when I was originally intending to spend both nights camping. I had a great time on the Friday night and then the next day felt super depressed and couldn't face another night so went home early. Only reason I feel like mentioning it now is that I don't want anyone to think that there was any other reason I went home early, just me and my mental health lol. Cheers. 3VOM, djimbob and mercedade 3
MrDuke Posted June 19, 2017 Posted June 19, 2017 This evening I managed to step on a nail while wearing 'impractical' shoes. That wasn't the problem though - as soon as I felt the nail through my sock, I threw all of my weight onto the other foot. Unfortunately, there was also a nail under that foot.I've left a truly impressive trail of blood-sprays through the kitchen, and with every hour the throbbing gets stronger, the swelling gets bigger, and the colour gets stranger. Gin takes the edge off it, but not much. I didn't look at the actual nail, but it's been sticking out of a plank in the garden for the last 4 years, so I should probably go in search of a tetanus booster tomorrow. Joy.
