GR8 seller in Africa but sadly we didn't get them. Wonder if anyone's ever brought one of these to Blighty??

A few of those Sierra XR8's have made it over here. 5.something V8 up front. There was also a Sierra XR6, that had the Essex V6 in it. Sadly they only sold them in SA.

GR8 thread! Will try and add to it when home later, can think of the BX van as one that needs to be shown for now.I've seen a 'real life' XR8 and a Cortina XR6 a few yonks back now, both came in to a place I worked at to have tyres fitted.

There's a Mk1 one of these in the garage where my Escort is languishing. A 1.3 base by the look of it, but very tidy.

I doubt it'd be expensive - the expensive bit would be bringing it here. Is it worth it for a 'scene tax' expedition? That's the question..

I've got the horn for one of these at the mo, but I think I'd have to drop a Cossie lump in it.

Those Sierra XR8's had the 302 cu.in Ford mustang block as standard, I was working in Johannesburg around that time, and my company car was a 3-litre V6 Cortina Estate ! not that quick, compared to the 4.1 straight six Chev Commodores that the other technicians preferred to drive. There was also a few of the Perana Capri's with the 289 Ford V8 still kicking about, some of which have migrated back to uk.I know something about these because of my connections to Sunbeam Tigers..... (what are THEY, I hear some of you young-uns say ?

One of those is very high in my "Must own before I die / Lottery winnings" list. Very high indeed. Ideally with a load of Z181 mods.
