Mrs Suttys crusty orange Mini project, no longer crusty or orange.

No need for engines, just a harness and a set of reins for the dog. Does he eat couriers?

This here is the little horror I built for my wife, she loved the little sod while I hated it! I built her an engine for Christmas one year - 1340 with lots of goodies inside. It didn't really start to go until about3K rpm, should have left it standard! But my wife loved blasting away from the traffic lights and took serious delight in beating BMWs for some reason. It was a proper quick little thing :)

So.

Cement mixer is going next Saturday. Guy from work is buying it for him and his lad to restore. Great stuff.

Our new purchase is now in my unit. And the 1380 engine is at home. Camshaft is buggered so a new uprated cam is required. Not a problem. Plenty to go at.

Interesting bonnet scoops...

Yes, guy we bought it off was building it as a race mini, he made them himself, infact I think we’ve got the card sections for up the side but I have a feeling we may be searching for a standard bonnet. Only time will tell!

We took the engine home. Well, whatever we have of it... no manifolds, distributor or alternator. They might get found but meh for now. First job is to get the head surface and liners cleaned up. Get the crank checked then order some new bottom end shells.

Have been to unit tonight to see what we have.

We will need to invest in some parts, no fuel tank, manifolds, interior, dash top is cracked so that will probably be binned. Cooper steering wheel in good nick. Set of wide arch extensions but probably flog them along with the 13 inch wheels for something smaller.

It just so happens that Mrs Sutty sometimes works up in Preston I’m sure she will be along shortly to arrange a collection! Thank you!
