I saw one of these Corsas in Ayr not too long ago, quite a nice colour in the flesh metalwork.

It is a nice colour, I've seen a few while I have been out and about, though I never saw one before we got this one.

Bloody big crack appeared in windscreen, it was a chip this morning.

The purple peril has done about 450 miles since the MOT. Windscreen got done the other day by the insurance, the lady that came out to it was apparently the only female glass fitter in the UK, or something along those lines.

Had to do a repair job on the front bumper earlier, or to be more accurate the bit of trim underneath it, she managed to break it by driving over something earlier, fortunately it clipped back in ok.

The purple peril will need some new tyres soon. Currently on about 117300 miles.

Yeah it is a similar colour, apparently it's called Rainbow Blue

The colour does intrigue me, is it one of those that appears different depending on ambient light? If I Google rainbow blue Corsa D it looks a bit different to me?

Reminds me of my old Rover 45, it was silver in bright sunlight but turned a champagne/beige/gold sort of shade in dull rainy conditions!

Would love to know how many were actually made in that colour because I don't think I've ever seen another like it in person 🤔

Apparently it is rainbow blue, I have seen a couple of others around though I have no idea how many were made in that colour

Sounds like this has done you OK over the years.

I know all vauxhalls are shite etc but in truth they really aren't.

They always drive OK, don't really rust, generally go through the mot ok, pretty reliable if not a bit boring.

I've done many miles in 90's ones and they were ace, engines always felt peppy, gearboxes were nice and I don't honestly think I ever had a breakdown in one of them.

Runabout car from a to b and occasional long distance use I see little wrong with them, are they any worse than VAG SHITE from that era with their plastic oil pump gears and endless warning lights.... Plus a good dose of rust on the mk5 Golf?

Fiesta possibly a better car but usually twice the price of a Corsa.

The Mrs had a scrape today, apparently misjudged a gap and scraped the purple peril on a gate, aah well these things happen. It clicked over 121k on Wednesday.

It was only the high level brake light but they had to order it from Vauxhall

Believe it or not, the high level brake light actually has a weird loophole on the MOT

It's classed as an additional lamp. But if it is fitted and connected, it is testable and must work even though it is not mandatory to have it

You can remove it, or simply unplug it and leave the wires dangling. The tester is now no longer allowed to fail it! Because it is not a mandatory lamp and it is no longer "fitted and connected"

If the tester has any doubt over whether the lamp is "fitted and connected", they must give benefit of the doubt and pass it!

Anyway, as you were :)

The Mrs was complaining of a rattling noise when the bootlid was opened and closed, so I removed the trim and found this behind it with no evidence of where it had come from.
