Having got the hang of it on the basic garage I tried a larger one and had all my stock burnt out two days before opening!

 

Then 6 months into the game, some punter comes in looking for a Mini 1000, I'd never seen a Mini 1000 up to that point in the game.

However I did make £1100 profit on a Metro 1.0L which I can't believe that anybody has done in real life.

Real world faults would be good, buy a Laguna dizzler and there's a 70% chance it'll shit something serious but that'll be reflected in the asking price.

If the cars had colours then I wouldn't get as pissed off with customers not likeing the colour.

I think updating the original to have different cars should be fairly straight forwards........it's only been 15 years since I did any programming like that and I wsn't exactly shit hot at it but I'll have a go

I remember playing Minder in the mid 80s. I know the Spectrum was never famed for sound but the version of the theme tune that plays while the Jag 'drives' between locations is so bad it's almost sublime.

I've had two cars develop a fault on the test drive, costing money to put right and losing me the sale. is that what I get for choosing to bodge instead of prepare?

What? I've spent yonks playing this game and never had a car break down on the test drive!!

 

I did suffer from fat fingers and accidentally drop a car from 5750 to 550. Unsurprisingly it sold. And I occasionally struggle with a car having done too many miles, they reject it even below trade price. It'll go eventually though after you've offered it to three hundred punters.

there is a variables file that has the cars in so I should be able to change these but before I do I wanted to play the game, keeps crashing on me, does this happen to others or should I hunt out a different emulator? I'm using S80Stealth 1.17 on windows 7

Has anyone else ended up with an 'Alfa 77'?  When one turned up on my forecourt I thought this was some odd variant of the 75 I'd never heard of but it seems to be a typo.  I see an Audi 300 in there too!  Hard to sell when you don't know what it is!

it won't let me tab down to a different car so I can only offer the top one in my list. Is anybody running an emulator on windows 7 that works?

Try using 6 and 7 to tab up and down,  remember that speccy keyboards were tiny.

The Fuse emulator works ok for me, scroll up and down with keys 6/7
