Yup, dead right! RR Griffon is a 36 litre V12, used, when driving contra-rotating props as on that plaque, on very late-mark Spitfires or, more likely, on the Avro Shackleton!!

youre right pog, but to be honest Ive yet to see him advertise anything whereby crushing it would represent a sad loss to the UK vehicle pool. That Toyota thing is up there with the daft tractor-exhaust mini scamp once spotted on here, in the ranks of most utterly hideous and misguided vehicles of all time.

That's pretty much the long and short of it really...Usually his eBay listings run to around 27 pages and cover everything from Wordsworth to Wells Fargo to Spitfires to the American Civil War to his uncle's brain tumour, and are more or less completely incomprehensible to anyone who isn't as unhinged as he is. So to see him writing in comprehensible English, using normally constructed sentences and - horror of horrors - staying on topic, comes as something of a shock to those of us who are familiar with his eccentric ways.

Don't forget the "random totally unrelated photo" where after loads of pictures of the item, he'd end it with something totally unrelated. His Chrysler auction used to end with a photo of a pictureframe or something.

I'm not sure about the validity of the listing of this fairground ride reject being based on a 1973 Toyota Hilux chassis - I'm fairly sure the pick up wasn't imported into the UK until the latter half of the 70's. I'd be tempted to buy the thing strip and find out what chassis it actually is based on. I suspect its based on a grand piano hand crafted by otters.

I actually suspect that there is (or at least was) 3 generations at work.Some of the listings suggest the elder statesman has recently snuffed it, though I suspect Ray the younger to be the mentalist, and that Ray the elder [deceased] and Ra the youngest are the sane ones.I will be most delighted to woof around in an ex-nutter jag.
