OMG STARLET SPOTTAGE!

A few months ago i saw a W reg Toyota Startlet driven by a old granny as i was leaving Sainsburys, I shot round the roundabout to take chase but lost it in the traffic.

Fast forwards this afternoon, I just popped to the Co-Op to get some bread and what did i see in the car park.... OMG Startlet!.

I must of looked like a right loon running around yelping whist taking photo's, I even hanged around for the lady to come out the shops, Was going to offer to buy it from her but i never saw her.

It's only got 44000 miles on the clock, A seat cushion on the drivers seat, shit wheel trims, Original local dealer stickers and plates and the most awesome side graphics which gave the car specifications including the water and coolant!.

And it was a 5 spd!. 8)

Very nice, mate of mine has a Mk1 with the ealier raised round headlights, I have a pic so when I post some tat up I'll put a pic of it on.I have fond memories of going sideways then OVER a large roundabout in about 1986 in one of these :D Can't think of many small rear wheel drive hatches apart from Sunbeam, Starlet, Volvo 340 & BMW 02 Touring and maybe a couple of others if I had time to think of any more.

It's like a Chevette but with reliability.

I think Terry, who bought my old brown Starlet 5dr, is in contact with owner of this and is hoping it will come his way soon. He's been a good custodian of my old one, so I think he'd be the perfect owner of this, assuming it's the same one. He told me the brown one may then come up for sale - kind of hoping I have some spare cash then...Good to see it myself at last, nice work Trigger!

Looks lovely!Am I right in saying these are popular on the OMG RETRO SLAMMED BANDED STEELS SATIN BLACK scene because the 4AGE engine slips in nicely, or quite possibly because it's small and RWD.I'm scared of something that pristine falling into the wrong hands (ie. 99% percent of the people chasing after her hoping to offer 150 quid for the car she's probably owned and cherished since it was new).

I was going to offer her £1000 for it or the wife's puma, i seems wasted just being used for the shops which i would say she does with it.I would love to show it.

If Terry gets it will be in good hands.Yes, they are popular for engine swaps but the little 3K/4K engines in these are fantastic things in their own right. I was lucky to buy my old one for £300, with a new MoT. Once I drove it I could really see what the fuss was about.
