Just picked up the picasso from an oil and filter change at my trusted place (Martinet motors thornaby)

sure i'm changing cars in a month, but i still need to maintain this one

other than that nothing to report, it's been cracking!

What have you learned about C5'S then?

apart from the wiper pattern......they seemessentially the perfect all round  car for what i want

getting a 2.0 HDi, would prefer the 2.2 but i feel it can be a bit scary

plus, i have driven it before

Is it a hatchback?  If so I have some new spares for cheap.

it's an estate

Does anyone know why these have a wee bit of foam stick to the filter? My 307 HDi was the first car I encountered with a filter like this.

Is it not like a mattress topper, for small rodents and insects?

Ive got a 2 layered foam one in my xsara. Was fairly new. When I last serviced it I pulled the dirty top most layer off and refitted... Can probably do that again with the remaining layer and then have a spell with just the paper one then splash out £4.50 on a new one in 2023

interesting

i filled with esso the other day and have done a few hundred miles since then, cold starts it idles beautifully now

i've only every used shell, so this strikes me as odd that it runs so much better on esso rather than shell

keeping an eye on it, also seems to accelerate much much more cleanly

otherwise literally nothing else to say, it's a fucking cracking car!!!

excuse the potato quality videos, was lazy and downloaded them from messenger after sending it to myself

so, today had a slightly weird thing

beeping when indicating left, wtf was my first thought

then "ahhhhhhhhhhh tow bar electrics"

weirdly i was pulling into halfords at the time

so, had a think about what to buy

bought a little cheap bottle of WD40

mmmmmmmm filthy

gave it a very very very good dose

look how tiny the bottle is!

anyway after putting probably half of the bottle into the socket......

GREAT SUCCESS!!!!

probably 15 years worth of crap in the socket finally started to cause issues

very pleased at how easy it was to solve
