maxxo
Now i had a package arrive today a paintless dent removal stick, the glue gun sort, now i was very skeptical about this no need to be as shown below now this is what i had origionally, thanks to a c4 picasso! quite nasty actually This is before i really got stuck into it, did i mention it was raining too....of course it was i was working on a car so it must rain tons of sticking and gluing to do, i enjoy fiddly stuff like this so it's not a problem got it looking alright after a while, but i still wasn't happy about 20 minutes later: i was finally somewhat satisfied also decided to have a bit of work on the creases on the rear arch came out pretty darn well i must say mercedade, Kringle, LightBulbFun and 6 others
maxxo
Just realised something went to halfords autocentre actually had good service! and i also see that they road tested the car (i was stood behind a tree watching them the whole time like a weirdo) and torqued the wheel bolts before and after they drove it, which was a nice thing to see them do didn't try and sell me anything either, however i see they did a free vehicle check no issues reported as i expected LightBulbFun, Nyphur, paulplom and 1 other
maxxo
Well me being me couldn't leave that damn door alone so of course, having another go This went quite well i've got it looking about as good as i think you'll be able to get by pulling them not really that noticeable either i'm quite impressed with the quality of the paint, it hasn't cracked or really got damaged at all during this whole thing i will admit i did leave an absolutely tiny scratch in the laquer rainagain, LightBulbFun and Nyphur

maxxo
oh boy what fun and games i had today! so popped over to the grandparents house today, with the thought of changing my oil on their perfectly sized driveway, i'd bought the oil, oil filter and a new sump plug and it was all going to plan bought some second hand plastic ramps yesterday and they are pretty damn good i must say especially considering i paid £10 for them looks almost professional!!!! bit of a bugger to drive up on to but otherwise they seem excellent so removed the undertray and engine cover, getting everything ready for it decided to use my new socket set which someone bought for me you can see where this is going sump plug seemed a bit stiff so put a bit more force into it BANG the wrench had snapped just where the handle joins the top bugger so, i've just ordered a new socket set, not a cheap shitty one either so this shouldn't happen again going to do it in the garage (yes clearing space for it!) on saturday so i can be dry and warm ish it's just hilarious how wrong it went, also smashed my hand off the sub frame which is always fun! maxxo
MOT is booked for 2 weeks time with martinet motors of course, i completely forgot about an advisory from last year ah yes, now that isn't really a pass, or a pass with a strong advisory.....it's brakes i'm not messing about with them thankfully i have 2 weeks to sort it i don't do brakes myself, don't trust myself and i'm not taking any chances Jim Bell
maxxo
Today was extremely successful decided that a good course of action would be to use the garage for it, and oh boy did it make it easier @LightBulbFun will be pleased to know it's fluorescent lit so with some tools that had actual quality to them it was so much easier to get the drain plug off and i had no spillages! was pleased that the oil didn't absolutely reek of fuel either which was nice oh look at that shiny clean oil with it's nice new filter quick running of the engine to make sure the filter is full of oil and everything is okay, oil light went out instantly so i assume the pump is still good and look! it's still relatively clean without oil absolutely everywhere Nyphur, Twiggy, LightBulbFun and 2 others

maxxo
In truly exciting fashion..... Just got a job at amazon, which i suspect starts this week, what else this week you may wonder? why yes it's MOT day, which i strongly suspect will end in a fail dropping it off early morning for the MOT and i'll tell them i need the car at 1:30 no matter what, unless it's going to explode in a very exciting manner of course so in theory regardless it should go to plan it won't go to plan quite tempted to be a bit naughty and blitz the suspect brake lines in underseal, which will get me an advisory......hopefully and then i have more time to get it sorted this should be quite an exciting week i suppose  Flat4 and Jim Bell
maxxo
So you see that burned out BMW under the cover? last night i was parked where the barrier is near the qashqai with another car parked next to me so here's the exciting part came out at 11pm last night (tuesday) to find the BMW and the car next to me (vauxhall of some sort) ablaze, seemingly the fire started in the BMW and had already spread to the vauxhall before i ran like hell past people who were shouting at me to stay back to save this picasso damage wise to the picasso.....it still smells of burning plastic, slight distorsion to the door seals on the drivers side and was absolutely filthy on that side I made a promise to this car that i wouldn't let anything bad happen to it, and i couldn't bare the thought of seeing it die a horrible death Safety wise i shouldn't have done it, but i know i did the right thing I love this car Rusty_Rocket, Kringle, MKT and 6 others 4 3

carlo
That early metallic green paint looks cracking on these. Mine's already proved incredibly useful during a house clearance, is amazing how much you can get in them.

That green is literally the best colour for them, fits in so well.....especially the super rare fabric roof models the issue with the xsara picasso is they're too good for their own good sadly means nowadays they fall into the wrong hands which is why they're getting quite rare here
vulgalour
What price happiness? If you're happy with it, doesn't matter what you spend, as long as you understand you'll never get the money back. Good job on the save! That metallic green was one of the best colours on anything. Funnily enough, @chompy_snake used to have a metallic green one with a matching green fabric roof and he liked it quite a bit. maxxo
Been looking recently into a replacement for this car what a load of shite the used car market is at the moment, hardly any C5s (not surprising) but anything on the main sites which looks even half decent is much overpriced this is a damn better car than almost everything out there is seems, so it's going to be sticking around until the used market recovers a bit more in other news it's doing very well indeed still, even cold starting well at this time of year which is nice

The only outstanding job on mine now is a left wishbone that is sometimes clonks over speed bumps. Everything on that side has been replaced so it can't be anything else. These eggs do something to you, because strictly speaking they're not very nice to drive but i love driving it......in a weird sort of way it just feels fantastic I would be very interested in driving a pre facelift sometime, i'm curious as to how different they feel
Ben_O
I put a new rear lamp in one today at work and noticed that it had the original citroen branded plastic trolley in the boot. I think it was an 03 reg and looked quite basic maxxo
