and again, spending more money! i didn't realise these were as worn as they are, had my foot slip off the clutch....luckily in neutral though!

i think it's fair to say, they are rather worn and held together with a cable tie, surprisingly that wasn't me

looks to be easy enough i imagine they just pull off

Just had my Picasso (1.6 petrol 2001) serviced by my very thorough old-school mobile mechanic.

Filters: fuel/oil/air/cabin, oil change, new plugs, inspection of fuel/air/brake lines/water hoses, washer top-up, ball joints checked/levered for play, brake pads/shoes checked/drums cleaned, rear cylinders checked, check seat belts/mounting points, horn, lights, exhaust and joints - a service and pre-MOT with a service stamp.

He's amazed how clean and new it still looks underneath - the metal brake pipes are still free from corrosion after 19 years. He charged me £180 but as he only uses decent parts (Bosch, etc,) - and it means some peace of mind for the forseeable future - I'm happy with that. He's a one-man band so at least the money goes to him and his wife.

He's talking about reducing his workload as he's getting on a bit now so it'll be a sad day when he hangs up his tools.

The only mishap was the rather glued-together/tatty original wheel trim fell apart taking it off - but I've ordered a good used one on FleaBay for £7 including postage.

Maxxo - a rainy-Sunday photo for you.

Yes - literally no lacquer peel at all. A few dings on the doors from other car doors but the paint is still glossy and polishes up well. The sunroof is great - just a bit noisy with wind roar even in the first position designed for over 30mph. With the blinds back it's like being a PopeMobile/greenhouse.

Like you found it's a fantastic load lugger. I'm always taking the rear seats out for trips to the council dump. I've had a three-seater sofa in the back and the tailgate almost closed - I just used a bungee strap around the towing hook to hold it down.

My last remaining job on the car is rear shocks - the fronts were completely shot so I assume the rears will be past their best too. The Euro Car Parts Anschler ones seem fine so far so I'll get the same for the back and see how it goes. In hindsight, If I'd realised my car was this good, I would have bought KYBs but the motor factors couldn't get them in time, so only ECP had shocks - their own brand.

Had my pads and discs done last summer. Went for Delphi. No problems at all since and the brakes bite well.

yes i've got a pair of rear shocks to put on mine, they're lowering shocks (got lowering springs too) and i am lowering it to disguse the rear suspension issues

the kit was free so i can't complain

i'm well aware my discs are very thing, they haven't cracked yet though

truth be told i keep forgetting they're so bad when i'm hooning

i'll be due an oil change at the end of the month so i'll do everything then and get it pretty sorted ready for the summer

Excellent - nice to see someone taking care of their Picasso. I'm sure at some stage, these odd round-shaped cars will be interesting as curios of the past.

I've had decent cars in the past, Subarus, etc, but they weren't half as fun as my Picasso. It feels like a car for adventures.

Picassos seem to have become rare recently, especially here!

I did a 515 mile round trip the other day and only saw 2!

i've got to drive a very poorly 09 plate picasso this week to be repaired, it doesn't feel like a xsara picasso, i don't know why it just feels completely different and just like a car i suppose

Lots of them around here in  my part of the South East - all in metallic greens, blues, grey and silver. Might be a legacy of Citroen dealers still here. Still lots of OE parts available and not too bad a price.

My mate is a Berlingo fan but having taxi'd him to Heathrow in mine, end of last year, he's become a Picasso convert.

It does feel like the last of the quirky French cars - bit like the 2CV and the Renault 4.

People are quite big on modern cars here, which is a shame!

i can go days without seeing another one

which is very annoying when you run this group

It's one of the few cars where the facelift was still quirky (and argueably the better one to go for)

although i do much prefer the look of the pre facelifts, but i like the features the comms2000 brings

Ambitious price for one not far from me; https://www.gumtree.com/p/citroen/2008-citroen-xsara/137060788

plenty of undisturbed dirt around the oil cap, strikes me as very little maintenance, and it's just a TU5

nice colour though, but i don't have much interest in the ones around that age due to the dark coloured interiors, lack of engine choices and electrical reliability

But look at this - must getting Lockdown Lunacy as these are looking tempting. This isn't far from me:

i must admit i'm very tempted by a second car, i sort of want a really early (like W reg) picasso

especially a 1.6/1,8 petrol with the rag top roof in "bora bora green" the bright metallic ish one

Haha! My brother a Robin many years ago - terrifying road handling and the engine noise and gearbox whine inside was interesting but the grin-per-mile ratio was insane.

He has asked me to drive it halfway home (it's in Cardiff)
Should be fun, however I'm concerned about the wipers, seeing as though it's the first time in years I will have experienced long term non claphand wipers

I have a hankering for another one of these. I had a resale silver, '02, two litre diesel one of these years ago. I used to pull my caravan with it.

Would you like to buy my saab or swap it for that matter?

1.9 tid vector sport. I think it's too cosmetically challenged for your liking.
Does have full history and I spent £450 last year for a full service with the belts and water pump changed. Nice cream leatheras well.ed0b5805dc47d0be303f2ab78750d8fd.jpgc5a13aa06ca42666e9ecac2eac9a1838.jpg
